Extra Digits

I think this is amazing and incredible, and I hope they keep those extra digits intact on that lucky little fella!

I WISH I had extra fingers -- then I could wear more jewelry! Ha.  I guess the shoe thing would be a little tricker with more toes, but I think it could be worked around.

I actually have a friend that was born with 12 fingers, and his three children were also born with 12 fingers.  My friend did not keep the extra digits, nor did he let his children keep their extra digits -- he didn't want them to be labeled as 'freaks'.  He said that when he was born, and when his children were born, they tied off the extra digits with some string, and they waited for the extra digits to, er, die.  Ew.  That sounds pretty horrendous to me.  I guess the tied off digits would just fall off eventually if the circulation was cut off.  Ew ew ew.

That sounds incredibly painful.

I'd think the extra finger thing could come in kinda handy, until it came time to wear gloves.

that is awful!! but I can understand why they did it. This poor baby has been all over the news, I can't imagine when it gets older and has to go to school.

I once heard somewhere that Marilyn Monroe had six toes on each foot.

The best thing about this baby is, overall he's healthy and looks really peaceful sleeping in his mama's arms.

I saw that! I thought it was pretty cool, and you don't even realize the extra digits until you look more closely. And yeah, buying gloves has gotta be a bitch, though!
