Hirshhorn Museum - Strange Bodies

The Hirshhorn Museum at The Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC currently has an exhibition of figurative art called Strange Bodies: Figurative Works from the Hirshhorn Collection. The exhibition runs through late 2009.

This incredible sculpture is in the exhibition.

Ron Mueck, Untitled (Big Man), 2000

I kind of want to sit in the corner with this guy and maybe give him a hug. But he looks like he might elbow me in the face. But then again he [it] is just a sculpture.

I would give him a hug... if he put his pants on.

Yes! I love this piece. I wish you could have seen the piece at the Denver Art Museum. It was a little man hiding under a blanket, but insanely real!!! It blows my mind.

K@- you bitch!! I was so going to say that. I got to think of something else now.

I want to give him a kitten, everybody loves kittens! He can pet it while telling me his issues and we can drink mojitos till the sun comes up.

Oh my gosh - you are in LA and giving me news on local DC art exhibits! I will definitely check this show out - looks interesting, to say the least. The Hirshhorn is a super cool modern art museum for anyone that gets the chance to visit. They also have regular parties in the spring/summer!
