I love these! It's supposed to be super easy to make a lamp with a hardwiring kit, though I've never tried. With my luck I'd burn the house down. Not to say YOU couldn't do it, Drollgirl. :)
This is such an awesome idea! However, finding the actual speakers would be difficult, but give it a go!
You can do it. I bet you could find a bunch for cheap on Ebay. I love this idea
Wow, I agree! This is an innovative idea. Maybe I can find some in the thrift shop nearby and make one. Thanks for posting.
This is pretty darn innovative, nice post Droll Girl = )
thanks for the support drollgirl :)about the font, a couple of other readers noted me on it as well and apparently it is an issue with Internet Explorer.. I don't know if you use firefox or safari, these shouldn't make my text smaller than it is :)
I'm sure you could do this! It's a pretty cool idea....hmmmm...it's got me thinking of all sorts of things that could be used this way! You and Sara are forcing my brain into DIY decorating overload! (it's a good thing)
These are amazing! Thanks for the nice words about the 50's lamp in my Etsy shop, drollgirl!
those are super D duper cool!! i want one now....
i love these! they are so vintage chic....they would make a room sooo eclectic which is just my taste!:) fab find!
i made a lamp once in high school shop class. it wasn't that hard. (and you can make them out of pretty much anything that isn't flammable)i was just saying how i love the idea of people using chandeliers in their bedrooms now. (not just for the dining room or foyer anymore folks!)
so pretty : ) they look like flowers : ) i like the idea of turning something old into something useful.
I think these are marvelous. Bet they are very easy to make. All you need besides the gramaphone is the socket, cord and a plug and voila! Get it all at the harware store and wire together. What a great lamp! And I adore the photo to the right of the puppies nursing on the hand. Priceless piccy. Susan
looks so classic but unique <3thanks for sharing dear ;)xo
What a grand idea! I love it! -e
Very ingenious idea!

One of the better ideas I've seen for lampshades, these have a kind of deco look to them. Nice find.(I like stripes, too)

you can totally make them yourself!!! and then show us all how to do it:)

Very cool - I think my husband would like these.
Oh, these would be fab in a lounge area. Great find!!

oh wow...fetish for lamps to begin with, can barely contain my love for these beauts!
Those will be pretty unique hanging in my mini library. Eye catching!
These look amazing!! So much character! Great find - I may have to feature these ;)
You could make one of these and it would be super easy. I'm sooo not a "fixer-upper" person, and even I can make lamps and I can even re-wire old ones!!(I sort of feel as though this last skill is akin to a superpower, lol!)
these are amazing! so fun and unique.
I'm torn between wanting one and wanting an actual vintage gramophone. I guess I'll take both.
I made these for my bar- even put klipsch wireless light speakers in them kind of amazing......http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150140905029750&set=a.257299339749.171576.251039649749&type=3&theater
