I Think I Have a Chair Fetish

We receive a lot of auction catalogues at work, and I constantly get to see really fab stuff that I want and that I cannot afford. I thought I'd pass the torture along to you, too.

These works are featured in the upcoming Wright20 March 24, 2009 Modern Design Sale.

On the up side, I am hoping to find similar types of furniture through Craig's List, or through garage sales, as this stuff is just fabulous and deserves to be part of my world.

I want that collection of wooden chairs with green seats!!!

I wonder if there's any chance the current owner might just gift them to me...

Those are fbulous. The first chairs are my fave. I can imagine kicking off my shoes, curling up in them with a hot cup of tea and a magazine. Sigh. Ok back to my crappy life. :)

Yep! These are nice. I have a massive chair problem, I'm addicted to mid-century.

These are much more modern than the ones I like, but still beautiful.

I have an obsession with old ugly chairs, but yours are much prettier :)

Love the simplicity of design in those chairs!

These examples of furniture really strike my fancy. I bought a really great monogahyde sofa and chair at auction for 25. dollars, how lucky is that?

Wow, these are amazing! Pic #3 is possibly my favorite Danish mod chair ever - the sculptural lines make me gaga. I have a chair similar to the one in pic #2. It was given to me by my former employer when someone left it behind in an office that was vacated in the building she and her husband owned. The best freebie!

They sure are fab, some how some remind me Art Deco...

Those are some nice chairs. I'm stuck with a recliner right now until my back gets better. I miss my mid-century waiting room chair.

Maybe I just have a big butt, but I will always choose a sofa over a chair. In fact, we don't have any chairs in my current apartment (minus the patio furniture) because I realized I would never use them.

The last pair is cute, though, but I feel like I would break them.

Top one is to die for.

I have what my hubby calls a "chair museum" in the garage: thrifted treasures that don't fit in my house. One of my college design profs said chairs are like...what was it? I don't remember. Something like, the place where designers let out all the stops.
