LOVE the roller skate. Brings back good memories. My boys just recently asked for some. Do you think they know about these, or mean rollerblades?!Danielle
Now you've got me thinking about how darn heavy those things were and me clunking around the hairpin turns at the old Evans City Roller Rink (before it burned down, of course).
too funny. a doorstop, or a weapon would be great.
where is the pom-pom??? you had to have them to match your outfit or you were totally uncool.
This is so creative!
I remember the days of black and blue shins from these babies! I'm up with using them as a doorstop for sure!
I love it...too cool. I wanna go roller it up, fall on my butt, skin my knees...ya know the usual..:P
hehe I'm always curious to skate in that!
Aww man now I want to rollerskate!! I used to have a pair of white skates like that...so cute!!
I love these!! Crazzzy :)xox, mavi
I thought Abba's dancing Wueen was MY skate song back in the day. That statement was almost as ageing as my shock when I got carded for Proseco at Trader Joe's this weekend.
those were the days... i miss skating around in a circle to great music, with a bright comb in the back pocket of my really really tight jordache or sergio valente jeans.
These bring back memories of a place called Skatecountry where I grew up. I was sort of too young to go alone but I remember my older sister's stories. It all sounded so glamorous to an 11 year-old.
Now I want to throw a roller skating birthday party!! :)EVERYBODY's INVITED!!
It's weird after boogie nights now every time i see roller skates i think of roller girl (probably the best role heather graham ever did. well, that or mercedes in liscence to drive).I had a necklace in the 80's with charms and one was a telephone and one was a rollerskate:)
Oh this is so cool!!!!I remember I was a kid trying to walk on those... LOLThank you so much sweetheart for your support and words. It's mental tiredness.Take carexoxo
I miss my roller skates! Used to roll around the neighborhood, even into my early college years. Once, an older (probably in his 30s!) man started singing "Roller Girl" to me in a shop, and I kinda got freaked out by that....
I've SEEN THESE! They also come in groovy (and blinding) neon colors. There is a (completely overpriced) home goods store in my neighborhood and they have them. I'd get one bc they are so freaking cool but I can't seem to get over he sticker shock.
oh shit, roller blade!!! i'm getting flash backs of my broken arm trying to do some spin trick like some damn figure skater for my crush, david, and instead falling all wicked and literally breaking my arm and knocking my self in the face and getting a nose bleed. i was all broken and bloodied and he came over and said hi. ahhh... my first blow job.
I'd use this as a door stop. I never got into rollerskating. I am too clumsy and have no sense of balance.
that is soo long ago. i almost killed myself roller skating the first time.
I like. However, I am so uncoordinated me and roller skates don't generally get along :P
It reminded me of my own rollers... although mine where bright orange!
My grandparents will luv this...to go wilth their rocking chair! rock& roll baby!!! ;)
Ahh this would be the most awesome doorstop indeed!
skates are pretty heavy. i remember being 12-13 & hauling mine around with the strings tied together, thrown over my shoulder. man i wish i could still roller skate! those were fun days!
We just need pom-poms!! I really still very much truly MISS skating rinks... the last song I remember skating too was "if you think I'm sexy" ... I was a tween but still...
It seems like every home has this iconic doorstop. It's such a classic. I'm dying to get the harry allen pig bank. He's so pricey tho for kitsch i think.
Oh man, that remember me skating at the SKADIUM back in xmas 78' and during 1979. The good old days ;)Mike.SKADIUM for EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
