Some beautiful photographs are up at auction today at Bonhams.
The images above are my favorite photographs in the auction. Of course, none are affordable for the average person, but I still love to look.

Hmmm, photos are gorgeous and a couple very disturbing. Is she dead in the alligators mouth. Wonder if the shiny bulbous thing on the guy's head with the braids is part of his head, his brain bulging out or, or, or....??? I a not the average person and still can't afford these. LOL :-)
Is that a real octopus on that head? Ew!!!
The pictures are great though!
Yeah, that Herb Ritts photo creeps me out every time I see it.
I'll take the Phillipe Halsman lot!
Well, you and I are not average so let's get one, or two. First we rob a bank....
I cannot pick a favorite. Maybe the ME Mark, but the light in the Parkinson is fab. And I love the kids in Venice (my Italian affliction, of course).
Some interesting works. I like Robert Doisneau, Le Pigeon Indiscret very much.
All gorgeous, stunning, and some really disturbing. I'll be haunted by the octopus and crocodile ones from now on...
I don't know what it says about guys that they all line up like cattle at the urinal, but it says something ;)

I wonder if that elephant strangled that man, that would frightning...eeek.
awww...those orphan (?) kids are sooo cute, I'd adopt them all!!
thanks for sharing!!!
Ooooh, the alligator one is amazing. And the one of Marilyn is just beautiful. She earned that icon status - even if she is overplayed.
They are all beautiful, but the one with the elephant is my favorite!
I would like to get anything by the late Herb Ritts...He passed away too young...
i love the gator eating th lady!!! i love it!!!
I feel like I should be more blown away by their selections, but the Helmut Newton image is pretty great.
Herb Ritts, Djimon with Octopus, Hollywood, 1989 -- Lot 159
..is forever imprinted on my brain.
Are all those little boys peeing? Do I sound like a pedophile?
I love the Marilyn one of course.
Lady, YOU never underwhelm me! I am just bummed the auction has some heavy hitters, but not the best selections from them.
But, I am a jaded bitch, you know?
I really like the Divers (Izod Models) one. And the Italian urchins one.
umm, wow. first of all is that alligator/crocodile (i can never tell the difference chomping on someone? the picture of the children is really intense.
I love these! esp the one by Erwitt...I love his work.

I love these images! The last is my favorite!
Bisous,

The ways in which I love that elephant photo are ENDLESS.
I have a thing for the divers. SO perfect. Love. Thanks for sharing!
black and white photographs always have their own interesting point!
they make me focus more on the subject matter.
i like the marylin and barbells
and that alligator and octopus are creepy..
do you like to take photographs as well?
have a great week ahead
love them all
and thankyou so much for the birthday gereting :)
OMG!! The croc with the body in the mouth is my recurring nightmare!!! I've had it since I was like 8--I'm in a traveling circus with my family(old school-the wooden, rolling caravans) and we're on this raised area of land that is surrounded by swamp. I'm in the back and I slip down one of the sides into the water and get eaten by gators. Not good--very bad.
BUT--That Marilyn pic is bitchin!!! AND Djimon is one of my favorite people to hear speak AND look at!! :)
Love the photos. I especially like the Erwitt.
Everything always seems to look more interesting/better looking in black and white.
Holy crap! The crocodile......?....And the octopus...it kinda looks like it's been surgically attatched to that guy somehow.... interesting!
I like all of them!
! Is that a real octopus on his head? Ew! His scalp must smell fishy after! lol
EEEk! So intense! These are great in the black and white!
squid hat!!!!!
Love that Marilyn photo!
Divers - in my top five fave photographs of all time!
OMG - theres a person in a crocodile! Get out, get out!
love the pic of the boys in the car, yummie.)
nice shots!
Btw, i might get a new sex toy just so i can recycle it later! :D
These photographs are stunning. I could stare at them for hours.
P.S. If I ever get to live in a fabulous mod house in in the forest like the one I posted, you will be my first house guest. We will party like rock stars!
the look on the crocodile's face really made me laugh. looks like he's saying "glaahh"
They're all great, but Kayak in particular. Just made me relax, and I so needed that.
These photos are so beautiful! I love the one from Helmut Newton the most, it's unbelievable.
