I love bright houses or at least houses with colourful doors!

Love all of these!

imagine if they were all on a street next to each other in a row - colour bliss!

Beautiful colors!! Reminds me of the homes in the Caribbean.

I love it!

I have always wanted to be the crazy on the street that all of the neighbors hated because of my bright, fun house!

(then again, my dream home would be filled with secret passageways and such....Yes! I just thought of a post idea for today...my mind was blank...thank you!!!)

Did you ever notice how the most colorful houses are usually in the islands? But where there is ice and snow, everything is more basic (boring).
No wonder everybody lets loose in the Bahamas.

I love brightly colored houses. How come most places that have bright paint are in tropical areas.

I loooove that 4th green one. There is an island in Canada called Magdalen Islands...and the whole island is crazy bright houses! I loove houses with character...boo to boring suburban blah-styles

these all make me incredibly happy.

I adore the red one! Come to Florida. You will see bright houses galore. Not always as cute as these however.

Looks like Costa Rica!

I'm partial to that first one, purple with red door -- and I'm not even typically a purple gal.

All of the architecture was interesting. It would be nice to see what was on the rest of the block.

Once again, very fun photos.

Yes love em! Especially the ones with the little boats. Gondolas? I don't effing know, all I know is that Marky Mark is making a face at me as I type this and its making me uncomfortable.

I would live in all of these, happily!

i love the idea of these houses, but seriously? there are two houses in my brother's neighborhood that the hubs and i make fun of. one is pink/mauve (i hate mauve) w/ green shutters and the other is a bright, bright yellow w/ green shutters. they look so out of place in a cookie-cutter neighborhood.

kelly said...

FYI lady bird i just professed my love for you on Iva's blog yayayayay

and now i want to paint my house lime green with a bear on it..ok more like a middle finger and paint it black . YAY! LOVE YOU!

Love these pics! My favorites are the first and the last. I'm pretty sure a lot of neighbors would hate to see it... which is probably all the more reason to get something like that done ;-) I'd probably integrate stripes into the design as well...

These are unbelievably fantastic! What a great combination!

Oh, this is soooooooo interesting, dear. I love all the bright houses.
It's curious because down my street there is this purple house that I'm always thinking I must take that a shot, and it's so like the first picture, just hasn't the red door.

Thank you for sharing

Luv

I actually really love them! They really brighten up the neighborhood! That being said, I don't think they would look right in my neighborhood (but I wish they would!!!)

I love this. LOVE. in Buenos Aires in the Boca neighborhood there are houses so bright and beautiful that you forget how shady the neighborhood really is!

Oh Lord, how this reminds me of when my sister and I were in Newfoundland ten years ago! The landscape is so harsh and largely colorless that most people paint their houses bright colors.

The lime green with the mouse is a bit much for me but the rest remind me of Miami and the islands..wish I was there right now!

I adore all of these houses! They make me cheery. I especially love that little red barn-like one - so quaint! And I'd love to hang clothes on a clothesline outside of my windows like some of these have.

Miss Absinthe said...

I want that one... and that one... and that one! Is it too decadent to want an abode in every color?

tanya said...

bright houses are the best..plus, they photograph so well! love these pictures :-)

love it. the fabulous opposite of beigeville suburbia that surrounds us!

Tikimama said...

We painted our first house blue and our neighbors gave us such a hard time - every other house was a safe shade of tan/beige/yellow. Our second house in the desert was green, in a sea of sand-colored houses. I'm dreaming of the day we get to paint our current house - I really want pink!

michellehendra said...

the houses sure are cool!! cute!
i wanna live there! LOL

Thanks for making my life a lot more confusing!

I kind of love them. I used to live next door to a HUGE YELLOW ..and I mean YELLOW house ...and that's how I would instruct people how to get to my house ...it's the little one right next to the HUGE YELLOW HOUSE. I would have preferred living in the yellow house though. it was fabulous!

Kotori said...

Love this collection of houses all so bright and cheery! How bold to live in a house like that!

I loveeeeeeeee bright houses! They're so adorable!!

Ever since I first saw "The Painted Ladies" in SF I've been a huge fan of coloured houses. These are incredible. I think I need a mojito to fully appreciate these (and maybe a plane ride somewhere wouldn't hurt).

The Cottage Cheese said...

I love them! This really made my night - thank you thank you thank you! I'm so bored with my house. It's cool, but I'm not used to staying in one place for so long, as for the past few years I would do a whole-house renovation then move on to the next. I miss getting to pick new paint colors and design bathrooms and kitchens all of the time...

Penny said...

I don't think I would do the outside of my house very colorful, maybe the roof,in a nice bright red or blue. But I've always desired a red room (maybe a bathroom or dining room).

I love that turqouise casita-ish one with all the cacti! reminds me of growing up in the desert... awww

Bright colors look so much better in the brigh sun, so I'm all for it, but way south, on the warm islands, places like that.
