Random Updates...

Some of you have asked for updates on previous posts.  Um, sorry this post is a foot long, and please feel free to skip this if it is of no interest!!

  • I went to this on Saturday night. I liked it! I have not seen Cirque de Soleil, so unfortunately I can't give you a great comparison. One person I went with thought it was a grungier and lower rent version of Cirque de Soleil (HA!!!), but she still liked it. My friends and I had a great time, and I thought the performances were amazing.
  • A few words of caution.....the event takes place in a tent. As blazing hot summer has arrived in full force, I would recommend attending the show in the evening as that will cut down on the sweat factor at least a little bit.
  • There is NO NEED to dress up for this event. You have to walk through dirt and hay to get to the event, and all the chicks in heels and dudes in suits (hello?!?!) looked a little bit miserable. I wore a summer dress and sandals, and I ended up with grubby and dusty feet, but at least I was comfortable.
  • There are NO RESTROOMS, only port-a-potties. I find port-a-potties revolting, so I did not drink even a drop of liquid the whole time I was there.
  • Ticket prices range from $25-$80. I don't think you need to spring for the pricey tickets. We paid $80 a ticket (GULP! I agreed to attend before I heard the price!), but I think anyone would be fine with a cheaper ticket as long as the view is not obstructed.
  • Regarding the email I received from an ex a while back, I reviewed all the FANTASTIC comments you guys wrote and read them repeatedly. I talked the situation over with the boyfriend, and I thought about it all for a day or two.  I ended up sending the ex a VERY short email. All it said was "Hey there. I am doing well and hope you are too". So far he has not replied, and I doubt he will. Done!
  • I am working on this one.  So far there WILL BE A CAR RENTAL. For sure.  I think I'll give a full update on this one later, but I have a game plan and it is going to work.  I have figured out a fair compromise that will leave everyone happy.  Sorry to be so vague, but f*cking a this post is way too long already.
  • Oh, this is a sore subject, so I'll keep it short.  In February a guy t-boned my car.  My insurance company has informed me that THE FUCKWIT THAT HIT MY CAR AND CAUSED $6,000+ OF DAMAGE is going to sue me for soft-tissue damage, even though he was 100% at fault for this accident.  There is some chance that this will end up in court, so I will limit my commentary here even though I could write a black and blue streak that would make you all run for the hills. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I think that is it.  SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!!!  Bah.

I was very curious about the ex email. Well, I guess my advice to meet for a drink was terrible with a capital T. Rats! He did seem a wee bit charming but I'm a sucker for much. ;)

loving the update! My guess is that the ex will not reply. "it's for the best" lol - dating break-up cliche that works here too!!

as for the car accident and lawsuit...that blows. and yes, don't mention it anymore.

thanks for all of the updates. the circus sounds fun and i'm happy you handled the ex situation like you did.

bummer about the accident news

He hit you? And he wants to sue? I think your back might hurt. Go see a doctor right away.

$80 tickets to use a port a potty!?!?! That's crazy!
Crazy doesn't begin to describe the guy suing you for something he was at fault for. That's like someone suing me cause they saw me at the store and had subsequent nightmares...well if this guy can sue you then perhaps I will go look for ugly people at Target..then i must figure out a technique to 'tag' them...huh this is complicated....

Uggh, I've had some expensive ass car accidents in my time - NO FUN! Great job on the ex. They're such pains in the asses.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Thee should be insurance against idiots!

Had been curious about the ex -- excellent response.

The curiousity about the inlaw visit continues -- TBD.

I love you dude. Thanks for the update, we, your adoring public demands answers!!!

I did not know about the car thing! GRRR.

Please do a full post on your game plan re: the holidays at the bf's parents. The last one made my life complete, and I know you have some tricky ideas up your sleeve!!

I had jury duty back in March and I was "voir dired" as a possible juror for a case very similar to yours. I didn't get on the jury; they said the trial would last two days, but those types of things can go longer.

You handled the situation with your ex very well.

As for seeing the BF's parents on Turkey Day, how long is the drive? The car rides to and fro can seem A LOT longer than they really are, depending on the situation.

My very best to you on everything!

Nice updates, I think you handled the ex just right.

Is it too late for you to sue for soft tissue damage as well? I mean, you were the one t-boned. Sue for TWICE what he's going for, wear a Hello Kitty neck brace, and talk about how your sex life has gone down the toilet since the accident. Your bf should also be able to sue for loss of consortium :)
That fucking asshole trying to get a dime...screw him to the wall!!!!! Get an attorney!

Cirque Berzerk sounds like a blast!

but i'm sorry to hear about this accident thing. regardless of how it turns out (hopefully for the best), it still sounds like a lot of stress. :(

i think you handled the ex thing brilliantly!

thanks for the update!

Holy crap! I would be very surprised if that asshole gets away with trying to sue you! I'm astounded that he would even try such a fucking ridiculous plan of action! Jeeeez.
At l;east you had fun at Cirque Berzerk! It sounds cool :)
Good move re: the email too. Sounds like he got the subtle hint!

...so basically you're good, then..

Well done.

Nice to hear that you are doing well. So ridiculous that the guy who was at fault is now suing you for the accident. Hope his case gets thrown out in the court. Have a great week :)

Love the update. I was wondering what happened with the car accident other than you aren't talking to insurance companies anymore..LOL!

RE: car accident puss. May his soft tissues forever remain soft.

glad to hear that you enjoyed Cirque and there is a car rental in your future for which to escape the bf's family for a little bit.

Car accident guy is a dick. Was there a police report or anything that faulted him?

La Belette Rouge said...

Do you have an attorney that can sue him for the psychic soft tissue injury you have received?

Cirque du soleil is better when seen in air conditioning in Vegas.

Hope ex leaves you alone.

Andhari said...

Wtf his fault and he sued you? Oh that guy needs a smacking and not the good kind.

Ps. Been too long since I last time saw a circus, so jealous of you :)

Aw man the car situation stinks - I hope you get it all sorted out.

Good move with the ex email too :)

I can't believe assholes like that are allowed to take advantage of other (innocent) people, and the law basically helps them get away with it.I think I'm gona puke!

You can never do too long a post.In fact,I think I must complain that it was too short.

I'm glad you did this! Hope everything works out with the car situation!

Thanks for the update....it sounds you it was a fun time at the Cirque Berzerk... although it seemed a little bit pricey for the precarious condition!
well know we know the true intentions of your ex...love the fact to talked it over with the hubby!
How dare they...sad to hear about the insurance/car accident and the low person that crashed you....ohh gush...hate this...!
I could have continue reading about more updates!!!!!!

Interesting to hear about the circus - I've not heard of it before - only Cirque de Solei...couldn't have responded better to the ex - bravo! So, so sorry to hear about the f#*@% w%$! who crashed into you - fingers crossed it works out in your favour.

Gary Heller said...

Glad for the updates. you handled the ex thing pretty cool.
Car accidents are hell especially when you got some jackass trying to make a buck off it and costing you time and grief with it.
I once had the great experience of having one of those private sanitation trucks late one night go through a red light in a major intersection to make a u-turn in the middle of it. He did that as I was approaching on my Honda VFR (white pearl with Givi cases. . .loved it)Totalled the bike as it plowed into the side but luckily I walked away.

haha let it out girl, it's all good! glad you had a good time at berzerk, i've never been to it but i looove cirque de soleil (you should def check that out if you get the chance)! but ew to that dbag trying to sue you, he'll never get away with it grrr >:0

...love Maegan said...

um . . . I cannot believe that assfuck is suing you. it makes absolutely no sense at all. I hope he drops it so you don't have to go to court. eew.

Kellie said...

I can't believe the nerve of some people! Hitting you and then suing you makes zero sense. What an absolute moron. All I can say is that the truth will come out and he'll end up paying a lot of unneccessary legal bills b/c he was trying to be a greedy assfuck.

Also, I gave you an award on my site if you are interested. :)

down and out chic said...

holy shit if that guy sues you please get an atty and fight.
that is absolutely ridiculous. i'm glad there's been some resolution on the trip to the (almost) in laws. i hope that works out for you.
good job responding to the ex. i think that was the best way to handle it and i'm glad you consulted the bf too!

Gabbi said...

I loved reading your updates! Not too long AT ALL :)

The car accident one I'd forgotten about... was there a police report?

NODtoMOD said...

i love the recap;)! good email to the ex....what the hell did he want?! xo

Glad for the updates, but man, that asshole who hit you is a real piece of work. Some people just have no moral compass whatsoever. Not only does he lack the decency to take some responsibility, but he continues to put you through the ringer for something that he did. I hope this will start turning your way soon!!

Felicia|DaLipstickBandit said...

post wasn't that long...

glad the e-mail to your ex was short..sounds like he got the picture...

and yay for the car rental! :)

I can't believe the way the car-crash thing is playing out! The FIRST post I read on your blog was about your car crash. I'm so sorry to hear you're still having to deal with this. Good luck dear. Hopefully your insurance company will just settle with the asshole and make it all go away.

Glad to hear you'll be able to rent a car on the trip to see your boy's parents!

So sorry I was MIA in bloggieland last week while I was gone. I'm still trying to catch up on the daily stuff. Ack, I'm so far behind on everything. I'm really wound up. I need a drink...

I Love your wordier posts and look for them. I am 100% with you on port-a-potties and would rather usually pee my pants then enter one. These are great updates. Look forward to more info later!
