Damn monkeys...these are cute but vicious. My aunt owned one and when they bite, they get ya 3-4 times in about 2 seconds. {Drawing blood} I'm terribly afraid as you can see! Ahhhh got to go now. I'll be back to visit when the monkeys off your current post :)-

awww! the one of him hugging the stuffed monkey is so cute! a little sad but cute.

but yea, too bad they are mean little effers!

as i am completely and unashamedly obsessed with monkeys of most variates (but mostly so with orangutans) i could completely see having these photos on my walls day after day and being the happiest gal around...

ahahah, AMAZING and adorable. the 2nd is my fave, i mean look at it's model cheekbones! :)

So cute, but yeah...totally terrified, these guys can get pretty erratic (not errotic). The third photo totally looks like my dad's "go to your room face"...childhood memories *shudder*.

p.s. thanks for the sweet comments on my hair :) I can't do it like the pros either - looked nothing like that when I left the salon. Ah well, gotta make do. Want to see your hair!
p.p.s. thanks for the substitute suggestion, will try soon as I get those plastic things!

I'm with Christina...I just want to reach in their and hug that sweet little thing and give it lots of love (even though I know it will bite me!). He looks lonely!

diane said...

They SHOULD be mean little effers. Humans are not to be trusted.

LOL.... i used to have a monkey as a pet when i was a kid. i wanted a cat so badly but i got a monkey and i named it cat.

Oh, they are cute..and not at the same time. Not even sure how i feel about chimps and apes and baboons. There was this series (forgotten which) where two of them were gay. I was like uh? what? uh? Does that happen?? truly?

Dream Sequins said...

Stop monkeying around... OK I love these pictures, although there's a certain darkness to their poses.

You've done it again! Where do you find these images? These are gorgeous and moving animal portraits. Some of them look so bewildered (why am I wearing this ridiculous outfit? What's going on here?). I love their range of expressions.

Awwww...poor little shit throwers. They baffle me how they can look so human (if anyone starts getting religious with me, not in the mood ha)...their faces def tell a story. I love the one in bed with his bear!

Happy Tuesday luvahh! XOXO

These are terribly cute!! Monkeys are adorable!! But at the same time, you just know that someone looks at these and then thinks having a monkey will be like having a dog or a cat...

Lianne said...

Wow, I find these kind of heartbreaking.

The picture of him hugging the stuffed monkey is just so sad but totally cute looking! awww..

Interesting monkey portraits done witha sepia- like toning for an older and timeless feel and perhaps has a lot to do with the "sad" nature of these.

These little buddies look so sad, like they have a lot on their mind, or a heavy heart. I want to crawl into the screen and hug them, especially the little one holding tight to his stuffed monkey and then I want to hug the two where one is hugging the other. Mr. Nike Hoop Jersey looks like he is taking the game in and reallly thinking about the next play :)

Anna said...

Awww I have been grumpy all day and these pics totally kicked my sour mood's butt! Thank ya ;)

Aw, the little monkey holding the stuffed monkey breaks my heart!

Hanako66 said...

those photos show so much emotion...which is odd, because they are of animals, but very intense!

I always wanted a monkey, but they kind of scare me. My dad said that his grandma had one and it was always throwing poop at him.

Pyzahn said...

I HATE when people dress up animals in silly clothes for their amusement and profit. I hope he's giving the proceed$ to a wild animal refuge.

What's up with freezing cold offices?! And I feel so special-needs carting a damn ski parka to work everyday...

Kellie said...

Some of those are down right frightening looking! However the one clutching the Mon-chi-chi is adorable! I used to have one of those!

LENORENEVERMORE said...

Regret to say this; but my family used to own 2 small monkeys & had to gave them up... lesson learned!!!

NIKI said...

Yeah, care for a bath? :)

Btw, added you to my blog roll!

These make me think of Bubbles, who I can't believe is still alive and well. Still, these are pretty incredible portraits. They should have done one of Bubbles.

Gabbi said...

Some of the expressions are a little grim, but I still love a good monkey photograph.

The 4th, with the little monkey snuggled up to the monchichi while sucking it's thumb, is adorable and the 6th one looks like a real crooner... glad he didn't photograph them in their performance :)

For some reason I'm reminded of my mom and her fear of the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz. She still has trouble watching it. My sis and I, being the sweet daughters that we are, run around the house pretending to be the monkeys. Thanks for giving us life mom.

Gabbi said...

Wait... they don't have thumbs huh? You know what I mean... hehee

Each photo looks so sad to me. Wienmarners pull this off so much better-and with pretentiousness. Especially when dressed as artists. But monkeys, oh, they just look like lost little children.

Clorivak said...

Ohh...these rock!!! Hilarious. Monkeys are funny creatures. Would never want one for a pet though...I'll stick with kitties. I couldn't sleep owning a monkey. It seems they would do stuff to you while you sleep.eeeeeeeeeekkk....pyscho monkey maniacs. love those weirdos...bahaha

alissa said...

Sasha said...

some of the expressions in their faces seem so human...you just want to start a conversation with them...or hug them!
Hope you have a great Wednesday!!

Carlotta said...

they're cute but poor monkeys :((

I'm so happpy that you got the necklace and you like it!!

sallymandy said...

These are sweet in a way and kind of sad. Why do we humans have to make everybody into humans?

Some of these expressions remind me of myself, when my daughter asks questions such as,
"Can I have my own laptop?"

This is a bit creepy, in a good way though.

I want to reach through the computer screen and give them all a big hug, but I'm sure I would return back to my keyboard fingerless!! So cute, and how lucky is Lenorenevermore to have had two pet monkeys when she was a child.
