Yes to all except the creepy Disney Haunted House...number 6

Brooke said...

I actually like a lot of them, but then again, I am a big fan of black. However, I can do without the black Victorian houses. Number 6 is especially creepy.

K.Line said...

YES YES YES! I've been thinking of painting my kitchen walls black. Of course, that's when I renovate it - sometime in the next decade!

Summer @ B is for Brown said...

some are amazing, others are just gloomy.

I LOVE black houses. There were some fabulous ones here.

...love Maegan said...

I think I would ...as long as it didn't look too spooky or off-putting. I love the first and last shots.

Fresh said...

Yes please! I'll take three. One on the East Coast, one in the TX hillcountry, and one at home.

i would if i lived in an arctic region and needed it for heat absorption. :)

Ela said...

I don't think I've ever seen it done before. I kinda like it! I prefer it on the more modern homes than the traditional ones. I think I'd offset it with lots of foliage. I wonder if my doorbell would go off as much?

p.s. wow, I don't think I've used so many sentences that start with "I" on a comment before. Self-centered much? Sorry!

First and last I could handle, the rest kinda creep me out!

Depends how far away is the nearest good chinese restaurant is located?

HELL YES i would! especially lovin the creeptastic ones. maybe the pseudo cult religous groups would leave me alone! damn solicitors.

Dream Sequins said...

Those look amazing! I would live in one of those, with my black cat and my dark colored minimalist wardrobe. :)

mhgdblog said...

I would if I could, but I can't so I won't.

Andhari said...

Oh wow they're nice to see but I may not wanna live in one of those. Prefer brighter houses with victorian instead of minimalist interior :p

nicole addison said...

oh i totally would! they're so so beautiful. and you could spruce up the inside..making it all bright nad have the best of both worlds!

ticklishfromadistance said...

YES!!!!! Gorgeous.

Au Lapin Blanc said...

I like them!

Red Boots said...

It would definitely have to be on the right house. On some pictures it's quite cute, especially the little wooden cottages. But on some of them it's horrendous!

xx

Char said...

probably not, down here it would just make the house even hotter inside.

Waxy said...

I totally would! It would look super fabulous in winter...

Kellie said...

It definitely depends on the style of the house. But yes, I would! As long as it wouldn't look like a creepy haunted house!

Raina said...

In a cold climate? Absolutely!

Iva said...

black, black, black I <3 BLACK {hehehehe}Seriously, some of these are WAY awesome, most of them are, no. all of them are, even the 'creepy' ones, because they are way fab to look at. I think I could live in some of these, like the first one is way cool, #7 is very 'interesting', #13 seems like it is nice too....ahhhh you are awesome! :) Have a nice Tuesday :)

wool and misc said...

OH, TOTES!

brooke said...

hmmm...depends on the house...i love some of these more specifically the row home ones in black...

Annie said...

i could live in some of them.
i like the 5th one, lots of character.
one of them looks like the creepy house in adam's family...couldn't live in that one for sure!

creative kerfuffle said...

some of those are quite beautiful, so i'd say yes. but it would really have to be in the right environment.

Pretty Little World said...

I would live in absolutely any of these!! But I would wrestle the deed away from a gang of crazy monkeys for that last house it -- it's such a cool mix of modern and victorian details.

TERI REES WANG said...

Oh, yes I could and I would but, I am still a fan of little pink houses for you and me...

The Haute-Shopper said...

Depends... it works on more modern homes and it also helps if the rest of the neighborhood doesn't have black houses. The first one is a great example of this. Also, the walls most somehow be insulated... I'm guessing the black exterior will absorb a ton of heat. I love black in general, but rarely apply it to home or decor. You've got me thinking now...

Alicia @ boylerpf said...

I like black on a house if it is super modern. The others look to me to be cold and uninviting...kind of goth!

sealaura said...

as much as i love tropical colors, I do love these. of course they would be my homes I would trot between in the fall and winter. they look kinda chic if you ask me.

The Seeker said...

Well, they're interesting, but I do not want to live in a black house!!!
They're dark, they atract bad energy.

Thank you lovely for the comment and I do am on a happy marriage :)

Luv

xoxo

freeteyme said...

depends on the style - more modern home probably so as not to look too gothic =)

Toothfairynotes said...

yep I would, if it's like the first one (my favourite) or the modern ones! some are just too creepy and old...

panda is still making me smile in your sidebar...

Stevie said...

Oh I SOOO could. I've always wanted a black house. Long time no blog. (for me) :)

Pinky said...

my first thought was "wow, these will get crazy hot in the summer!" While some of these are intriguing, I don't think I'd want a black house =/

asweetcakes said...

Honestly, i can't say for sure cause even though they are appealing, they're still kinda freaky. But i'll def think about it.

Sasha said...

some of them I actually like them! I don't ever think I could live there..!! thanks for your email..response coming tonight after the kids go to bed!!!

Cheryl said...

The modern ones are really nice. But the older styles, esp. the Victorian one looks like all the cliche haunted houses I grew up seeing in movies and tv. There's a black Victorian in my neighborhood. Well kept, gorgeous, but kids dare each other to go up and ring the doorbell. Then they run away screaming and laughing. It doesn't help that the owner tends to water the garden, at night, in a black butler suit. I've always wanted to ask him...why do you do that? Are you a mortician? What's the story here?

LENORENEVERMORE said...

My house is dark charcoal grey almost black with white trimmings! the last pix is quite nice!!

Milly said...

Hanako66 said...

I kind of really love it...I totally would if I had the right house for it!

Gabby said...

I really love these...not sure how it would look on my dreamy dream beach house though!

San Francisco Stylephile said...

I would NOT, could NOT! Too gloomy. Pretty, but gloomy.

Is it weird that the only ones I find creepy are the ones with shrubbery?

Lily G. said...

hmmm, I don't think so. Definitely kind of depressing for me. The darkest I would go is probably gray.

i think the 1st and 2nd last ones look really cool in black. they'd probably look cool in stark white too.

diane said...

I would not, could not, in a box. I would not, could not, with a fox.
I love Dr. Seuss. Not too sure about black houses though. God, there are so many!

Midtown Girl said...

Don't think I could do it...would feel like I was walking into a huge coffin!!

thereddeer said...

You know what, I don't know if I could. I think it would be a bit depressing. Even though I love black I think I need more colour in my life.

K @ Blog Goggles said...

Why the f not. Then again, first I'd need a house.

a. said...

some of them look really good.

Being Brazen said...

I like the first one.

Rachel Follett said...

Oh gosh I don't know. They all seem pretty dreary to me. A great color for some Halloween decorating though!

Kristen Sara said...

I like some of them, for sure... but I just don't know if I could live in one. But I would not mind living next door to one.

Felicia|DaLipstickBandit said...

nah..the only thing black about me is my race..lol...i need COLOR

one little simitopian said...

Ooh! yessy yes I could!, although it would get terribly hot in summer I imagine... I do like the idea though! I'd also love to have one black feature wall in a room. Yum.

Tiffany said...

some of them look really creepy to me but I love modern houses done in black, I think it looks really sleek.

Hey Harriet said...

I wouldn't really fancy living in a black house. During my short-lived gothic phase I would have been lusting after these though! :D

Some of these black houses are really cool! A couple are kind of creepy and give me that Norman Bates house vibe.

Kinda sorta like it, but wondering, does it create problems with heat inside in the summer? Coz if so, then the AC must be running like crazy.
