I am back from my mini-vacation, and I had a really nice time.

The break up I am going through is really tough and hurts like fucking hell, but it was so good to get away, clear my head, and have a little bit of fun.

I took over four hundred pictures on this little trip. SHEEZUS! The shots above are some of my favorites.

Can't wait to see what YOU have been up to! :)

I am so sorry for your pain. I hope in some way your getaway helped you deal with it.

Your pictures are unreal, absolutely gorgeous. You should be watermarking them for your protection because they are that good. Seriously, you could sell them.

Jessica said...

Glad you had a good time. I love your pics and I just wish the camera I ordered would be shipped already so I could take some pics myself.
Hugs to you for the man issues. We would all give you a big group hug but that many people we may just smother you. So long distance instead :) Hang in there.

How is it that NoCal and SoCal are like two different states? I hate it down here. ugh.
Those pix were gorgeous! I totally agree with the T. Kinkade sentiment. He sucks! Also, I refer to those trees and pruning jobs as "Dr. Seuss" as well! Funny.
I'm glad you had a good trip.

as the wisest man next to Jesus said, there's a season and time for everything. i'm glad you got out there for a while.

do the landscapes depict the phases your soul goes thru? it's so rugged yet so vulnerable, so grey yet so majestic. i'm lousy with words but this is the best i could do for now. thanks for sharing these. the flowers really lift one's spirits :)

Shelley said...

yay! twinsies! man... that sounds dorky when you say it out loud! I think a vacation would be nice, I wish I was ballsy enough to take one by myself... I think thats what my mess would require. I really hope you start to feel better soon because I know how much it sucks to feel like that. *hug*
maybe you can just do stuff that makes YOU happy for awhile, be selfish and see how it feels for a bit.

Fantastic photos, first off; love that Alive Children sign (where's a Dead Children sign when you need one?!). I'm sorry to hear that you are hurting but we all are here to support and sass you through it...we've got your back.

Finally, you never heard it from me: a certain painter of light is a total alcoholic from those I know who've met him. Yikes...

How's this for making zero sense: as a spiritual person, I too am bummed when people use their own spiritual/religious views to get what they want or judge others. So what I'm saying is, I completely understand :)

Glad you got some quiet time on this vacation (or I'm at least hoping you did).

Diana said...

Re: Thomas Kincade.

Because people like my parents will take their tax return and instead of putting money towards their daughter's college fund or paying off debt will buy pieces of shit like that!!!! TRUE STORY!!!!

And your vacation looked awesome! You take great pictures. I wish I knew how to use my camera better.

Bunny, THE PARIS HOUSE said...

Your pictures are stunning, wish I could capture things I see like that. I hope you are doing better, try to be happy and laugh a little, you need to keep your endorphins high during flu season or you will get sick. I know that sounds like I'm whacked but seriously no one is worth getting sick over!! ( I know it is hard but it will get easier!!!)

Geez, a vacation sounds so damn nice. Mini or maxi. These shots are lovely. Point Lobos is really amazing.

These are gorgeous photos! I esp. love the Point Lobos photo #5.

Isn't Capitola cute? I love this part of the coast. Last Monday I spent hours on the road just to spend the day sketching in Monterey, and to catch the last bit of sunshine in Pacific Grove.

I didn't catch your break up post but I had a feeling...from your tone sometimes. So I'm really glad you had a great getaway. And I hope you're feeling better soon! Just remember, now that this one is out of the way, the perfect guy is just around the corner!

ASSHOLE BOYFRIEND said...

Great pictures, glad you had a great time, hope you feel better. Now 80 more people are going to say the same thing that the other 56 did, but really, great pictures, glad you had a great time, hope you feel better.

At first I thought you had found yet another gifted photographer. And you did. Love the self-portrait of your toes with the seashells. But the Point Lobos shots take the brass ring. Especially #'s 4,5,6, and 7. All that mist. Seems wistful.
But you. You keep your chin up. And those pretty painted toes. I hope this comment finds you well. :)

Ela said...

Welcome back, drolly! You are an amazing photographer! I especially love the shot you took of 202 Cherry, it's perfect. Oh and Point Lobos, CA #5 is perfect too.
LOL @ the children alive sign. I like them best that way. Thanks.

Glad you had a really nice time, it's the only kind you deserve :) Hugs to you sweet pea!

So smart and clever of you to take your Self on the road for a fresh view.

...and then, you totally tripped me up with the mere mention of
..."Crap Kincade"!

The Haute-Shopper said...

Fantastic photos! I love your self-portrait... snazzy sandals! The scenery looks stunning... as cheesy as this sounds, you forget how powerful nature is and there's nothing more relaxing to spending some time away. I did the same after my break-up and it really helped.

Sorry that I haven't been around so much. I'm over at my blasted other blog, and having way too much fun wasting time.

PS, I follow, like 8900 blogs now, it seems. How do you manage your reading list?

these are absolutely gorgeous and so inspiring! Santa Cruz is one of my fave places ever, love it! I've been thinking about you ever since I read about the breakup. 3 yrs ago this september I had the biggest breakup of my life, unexpected, awful, shitty and I had just started the semester and had to be happy profesora. I won't bore you with the details, just wanted to tell you that although I don't "know" you past the blogosphere you have been in my thoughts and I am with you doll, so take care and chin up!
