Dia De Los Muertos

Yesterday was the Dia De Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I love this day and try to attend the festivities every year. Here are some of the shots that I took yesterday.

When I was in middle school, in Spanish class we used to do all kinds of fun stuff on this day :) That looks like a fun celebration and the costumes are so interesting!

Love your photos - and I love that you have a bit of Spanish culture over there in the States - it's so exotic for me as an Aussie to see all that stuff. Many thanks!

I've been fascinated with this holiday ever since high school when I wrote a term paper on it.

My MIL (Gretchen Ney-Laugier) did some great paintings on this subject years ago. Very bright, very beautiful. I remember the first time she told me about this celebration, she was so excited. It's such a cool way to honor the dead. So, I'm really happy for you, that you were able to participate and be a part of it. The photos are wonderful.

Dios mio! Those are great shots. I never knew the Hollywood Forever Cemetery did that. I have to do that next year.

Did you wear appropriate attire? Sundress and flip flops? ;)

Looks like a great weekend!

I love these Maccabre festivities and outfits. Somehow it brought to mind the James Bond movie "Live and let die"
