I have been a bit restless and lonely lately, and on the prowl trying to find new things to do with new folks. I have never been to my neighborhood library (I know -- TERRIBLE!!!), but I checked out their website and found something that made me laugh out loud. A Scrabble club meeting is scheduled in November!!! THIS IS RIGHT UP MY ALLEY! I am mad for Scrabble! And the funny part is that it is a BYOB thing -- BRING YOUR OWN BOARD!!! BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Now you know what a nerd I am! I think I am going to attend. I think. And I am pretty sure lots of very experienced and elderly people will be playing and they will probably clean my clock! But I don't care. I want to do it anyway. :)

I love scrabble too. I use to hate it because all I could do was dog and cat.
After playing scrabulous on the computer I love it.

Awesome! I always encourage people to find something to volunteer at. That is what I did after I broke up with my last boy toy. While I don't have a new boy. I do have what I call a Volunteer Husband. He and I constantly work and flirt together.

you HAVE to do it! that sounds amazing. i took a cake decorating class at michaels last year and it was full of grannys but i loved them :) it was so fun!
Love it!! My mom is a Scrabble fanatic. She reads the official Scrabble dictionary, she knows all the "Q" words that don't need a "U" (which I don't think is right... if you can't give me a definition/use it in a sentence, you're just making shit up...)
and she plays a game of it every day... with her self. She draws tiles for "me" and for "Pat" and "me" and "Pat" play against eachother with all the intensity of a real game.

There's nothing wrong with scrabble at all. It's a personal favourite of mine. Don't school everyone on your first night though, you don't want to make an impression like you're a scrabble nazi

no way! i am a realy scrabble fiend lately, too! i actually play long games with my grandfather...does that make me a nerd? if so, i was kinda already getting to nerd status anyway.

I have never played Scrabble. I won't try Scrabulous on FB because I'm scared of getting my ass beaten and having it show up on everyone's home page.
Scrabble flipping rocks. I get pissed when I end up with all the shitey letters though..which ALWAYS happens.

i would completely be at the scrabble club meeting game night thing at your library in your neighborhood if i were in your neighborhood. i bet it would get ugly, though. scrabblers are scrappers. and impatient when you're trying to get a good score while also getting a cool word at the same time. go scrabble! excitement!
I say you go too..this is a new thing I just found out about you and I can't help smiling. Sounds fun! If that's your thing then just ignore whatever people say, I find playing cards with old people to be so endearing sometimes. They usually have soft cookies I like..

You should totally go to Scrabble night! I'm a scrabble nerd too, although I'm a bit rusty because I haven't played very much in the past couple of years. My boy and I used to go through spells where we would play a couple of times a week. My Grandmother was the Scrabble Queen, and despite her advanced Alzheimers and 90 years of age, she still plays. Scrabble rocks.

This sounds awesome! I wish my local library hosted a Scrabble club; I'd definitely go. Haha, I've actually been playing online Scrabble against the computer and it's tons of fun. Wish we could hang out and Scrabble it up! We nerds have to keep together.
