Christmas Overload

My eyes! My ears! Christmas crap is everywhere! Is it almost OVER?!?!?!?

While I am being the Christmas Killjoy, I am just going to put it out there that I loathe Christmas music. LOATHE IT. But if I HAD to listen to Christmas music, I guess I would go for one of these albums before listening to the traditional claptrap*.

*Speaking of claptrap, were you aware it also has this colorful meaning?

Well as long as you listen to something christmas-y even if its not traditional "claptrap". Ha! Just try not to be a scrooge otherwise i'll have roundhouse kick ya like peter did on family guy and follow it with a "roadhouse!" Do you watch that? If you dont, you should.

omg it's the SALES CRAP in my Email in-box that's about to drive me over the edge! eeeeeee!!
It's funny one of those bands is "old man gloom" - that character is part of a tradition here in the 505 and we burn him in effigy every autumn at a festival called Zozobra. google it! it will get your mind off christmas.

i am definitely NOT a fan of christmas music. if you're tired of christmas decor, do not drop by my blog today. don't say i didn't warn you!

yeah...uh, no. i take it in very small doses because i have to hang out in an office world. i'm so immune to it in the malls that i don't even hear it anymore.

i love Christmas music...sorry!
though just now, i'm on my own in the office and got some house music on, really loud so i can't hear the phone ringing!
not exactly Xmassy!

I actually know people who probably own a few of these! (And I had not heard that urban definition of clap trap before. Kind of takes the edge off it :-))

It's having to listen to 'Winter Wonderland' when it's hot outside that gets to me.

Ain't no chestnuts roasting on an open fire here.

No way.

OMG I love those album cover. Funny thing is I remember the Twisted Sister one! I think Alice Cooper did one called "No Toys for Christmas" too. Great post!

I also am a hater of Christmas music. Unfortunately I have to listen to that shit 12 hrs a day when I work.

It's hell. Hell I tell you.

Is Christmas over yet?! SERIOUSLY. But A Twisted Christmas sounds pretty good. maybe I shall wear a wig.

I'm scared to look at "claptrap"...ohhh VD here I come.

Oh! I'm so with you about the music!!! Bing Crosby be gone!!! Can you believe we get "White Christmas" down here too in department stores over and over until it turns you into a loony psychotic nutter?

I'd get that Twisted Sister album only if it had a Christmassy version of "We're not going to take it" and I could head bang to it!

Christmas music could be used as a torture method...

Oh I hear ya! I'd also like to hear these albums (albeit briefly) just to know what a metal christmas sounds like! Bizarre!
They'd have to be better than Mariah Carey's christmas album....remember that? *vomit*

OMIGAWD....LOVE this!!! I am so puking on the Christmas as well. And the fact they start playing it like a month or so before the actual day, DOES NOT HELP. I will totally have to check out some of these alternate christmas crushings of tunes.
Hope the holidays aren't too torturesome for you. I am enjoying seeing some friends and fam I haven't seen since I moved but otherwise am sooo sick of the commericalism bullshite of it it all.
I hope you get a good amount of time off work and have some rocking nights!! :)

Haha, I will have to investigate these albums! I respect your honesty on your feelings towards xmas! I think I feel the same way about New Year's, that might have to me my least favorite holiday in the world!!!

I had no idea that there was so much to choose from. I'm a bit old fashioned, I like Big Band Christmas songs. Louis Armstrong's White Christmas is my favorite.

Alicia said...

hahaaa!! oh man, if i hear that effing santa baby one more time i'm gonna go postal....but the traditional claptrap...omg. best word ever!

Jill said...

I don't like much Christmas music either. A reallly dramatic version of Carol of the Bells will get my heart stirring...but that's about it!

ticklishfromadistance said...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! It gets above tolerable. Agreed. Santa Baby makes my head spin by December 1.

I'm not into the Christmas music either. I tried to de-Grinch and listen to the Sounds of The Season digital music channel. I was irritated in 15 minutes.
