Phew

tumblr_ktzgzjgQot1qzado8o1_500

I had to go to the doctor today for a scheduled biopsy (see this post and this post if you want background info). I could do a play-by-play synopsis of my day and make this a 6 foot long post, but I'll spare you and cut to the chase.

The supremely annoying sing-songy voiced technician with jumbo fake tits and just-been-fucked hair and the freakishly tall doctor with bone-chillingly cold hands and an intriguing constellation of moles upon his face set me up today with another sonogram. The doctor looked at it for a while before deciding that I did not need a biopsy after all. He said that I have a small duct filled with fluid, a condition called duct ectasia. Thrillingly enough, it turns out that this is a non-cancerous condition, so the doctor said that he could not justify performing a biopsy at this time.

Translation: I am ok. It doesn't look like I have any form of breast cancer at this point, and I go back in 6 months for a check up. I get the feeling that I might be going through this unpleasant testing every 6 months or so for the rest of my life. Right now that prospect doesn't bother me so much, as I am perfectly and gloriously relieved with today's outcome. But this whole process has been very tough and very scary, and I am fully aware that test results don't always have such happy endings. Anyone going through any type of medical testing and waiting certainly has my sympathy and support.

Phew. A hearty thank you to all for YOUR support while I was such a wreck. Now let the good times roll. :)

This is such great news! I'm so happy it turned out to be nothing serious! :) I think even if getting tested every 6 months is a bit of a nuisance, it's still way better than actually having to put up with real cancer treatment or not knowing what might be going on with your body. There are so many people out there who don't even bother going to doctors because they'd rather not know (I know that when I lived in Netherlands, they thought I was insane for wanting to get check-ups... I ended up going back to Germany every 6 months just because it was normal there).

Oh, thank goodness!!!! Yeah!!! Eff these effing health scares.

And ahem! you have no form of breast cancer at this point, nor will you ever have!!! I'll bet you my future great grandchildren's college education funds that you'll live to be a hundred and twenty.

Ah, life! Can't get enough.

I am so happy for you!

I really know what you have been going through, I had the same kind of biopsy taken this august (I was there only to make sure it wasn't something else, since I'm so young and don't have any cancer in my family) but because I felt a lump that had not been there before.

Of course it was nothing, but I still went through all the nerve-wrecking waiting!

I'm so happy for you though, ever since I read that first entry, I've been checking back to look for news! Phew.

Take care, Marthe
