They're a little bit like Fellini characters, aren't they? Thanks for posting these, J.

there's an interesting pull here between the grotesque and the beautiful. the women are pretty comical.

First of all this guy has a bad ass name. ruven afanador...sounds like a king or something. Second, his work is twisted sick in a good way. I dig.

Ruven Afanador's 'Maria del Mar Moreno, Outskirts of Jerez de la Frontera' speaks to me ...I don't exactly know why. Just something about the way she's being made to sit there and bearly putting up with her picture being taken.

I love how they seem like the outfits would traditionally be sexy but they are quite dark.

I just jizzed in my pants a little. I love strong, sexy women in black and whites. GORGEOUS.

This is stunning!!! I love the single hair braid between the two women. Like a couple of spinster sisters who both are dependent on each other yet have grown to hate her company. Sort of like a Spanish version of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane...or Infanta Juana ;)

These are incredible! I'd be happy with any of them.... the dramatic setting, make-up, poses and stark b&w make them unlike anything else out there.

The majority of the above pictures totally creep me out for some reason. I got goosebumps. :)

Lol the cat in that one picture looks PISSED.

That said, these definitely evoke thoughts and emotions. I also can't tell how many of them are men in drag...

Oh WOW. I dig your taste in photography drollski! My favourite is the gorgeous painted face: Amalia Smith NY city. Stunning! I love the hair and makeup of the women in the photos! The black and white really draws attention to all the interesting forms. Very cool.

The expressions are just marvelous. I love the mime-like quality of the make-up, too. Kind of makes me want to go crazy with my own makeup...

Wow amazing photography... the stark black and white is fab.

My fave is the braided joined pony. Perhaps it's cause it's the one I relate to most...I often feel that way - torn and wanting to go in different directions but I'm stuck...
Ever feel that way?
