Pretty Pretty!!
Im thinking of painting my house sea foam green, but am wondering if the neighbors would approve??? Who cares, I'm going to go all out with the sea foam green painted brick, baby chicken yellow roof, and pretty pale pink shutters. *sigh* sounds like heaven....

It's nice to see cute buildings painted in these colors but I don't think I'll paint my own house like that :p

I normally hate pastels, but damn they can look good or at least cool on buildings. It also reminds me of Italy.....ahhhhh....

Abso-frickin-lutely. There are certain things for which pastels are not only nice, but necessary. Can I jump into these pictures please? :)

As a New Yorker, I get VERY excited by pastel buildings. They're so novel to me!

I love it in quaint European or seaside towns but not really in an urban setting.

omg!! these are totally GORGEOUS!! Really beautiful. In the 10th shot even the water takes on the coloring of the houses. Its beautiful. Only one I'm not totally crazy about is the 5th one up from the bottom. I'm not sure about the lime green and orange {coral} side by side look. {only if I was thinking about living there lol} but either way I still think its a beautiful as an image, even like the turquoise bit of the car that is peaking out from the bottom of the shot! Totally don't have a favorite one though , I think they are all so unique. Awesome way to start out Monday drollgirl!!! FABULOUS POST!!

Not only is the color a bit much but I'd feel a little to close to everyone stacked up that way.

I love the old, European buildings. They are beautiful in real life too. However, the more modern buildings painted in less muted pastel colors might be a bit too much :)

Thank you for brightening up my otherwise crabtastic shitful Monday morning. You are a winner my friend!

They're wonderful

But it would have to be the right house in the right location else it would look silly

I can so see myself living in a pastel green house on the shores of a lake in Italy

Yum

Very European! I dig color.

As for your earlier post re: puritanical Google and their issue with butts:

Fuck 'em.

Not at all. Makes me think of some warm and happy climate. I would love to live in a candy-colored house, but i don't think my husband could handle that....

Pretty... but not the light green. I can't stand that color! All these houses together are so stunning. Great post!

Ooh la la! I like them in the context of these photos- I love pic number 7 and 18 best...i want to jump into the photos! On a free standing house these colours MIGHT not look as good...but they sure look gorgeous all together like that. I need to get rich and buy a lovely place like in pic 18. Sigh!

I love the brights and pastels, very tired of neutral houses. However, it doesn't work in most neighborhoods. It's always been a dream of mine to live in a town or neighborhood full of bright colors. It just seems like the people would be creative & fun. (And often these towns are on a coast - even better!)

I see a few houses I wish I could live in.

I wouldn't mind living in one of those houses, esp. the ones in the first and seventh photos. But if it's in Italy it could be poop colored and I'd be happy to live there.

I love how you jammed a pic of a favela in the middle of all that pastel prettiness ;-)

I prefer the pastels on the older buildings to the squeaky new ones. The latter just looks a little too... fake to me? But it suits the colonial housing, the country cottages and the seaside buildings so much better and adds to the character. In some of the other pics the pastels look a little too much like doll houses.

Ela said...

Oh I love these! They make me happy :)

i'm having deja vu on this post for some reason : ) i love these pics, but personally would not want a pastel colored house.

Love this post. I just went to Prague and there are so many pastel buildings there. And I am from San Francisco, so naturally I love them.

Just wanted to apologize and let you know that I took down my post. In no way did I mean to offend or copy you, your post just reminded me of something I like about the city I just moved to and I wanted to put it out there and link back to you. Anyway, keep up the good blogging.
