omg. and the horror of the ads. I mean top right? that looks like a totally uncomfortable pose and that the bag is weighing her down. not the idea I have in mind when looking for purses LOL
hahaha...i was thinking they remind me a bit of ed hardy. i hate that painted on look, like it's stenciled or whatever. i like unique purses, but this is just trying toooo hard and it falls flat on its face.
Blech! The shape of the bags aren't bad at all,(haha, i just realised how bad that sounds!) but the stuff painted on them makes them look waaaay tacky and cheap. And i bet they're NOT cheap! That last one is especially bad...it kinda looks like a 12 yr old decorated her mums handbag...hmmmmm.
gack! she said she is "redefining wearable art"...good luck with that. I bet they are super expensive so now were going to see celebrities carry them around.
I used to see stuff like this sold at flea markets and county fairs in 70's and it was cringe worthy even then. If you asked them what their inspiration for the creation was it was either "trippin on acid" or "peyote dreams from the magic mushrooms" which explained a lot then, but not sure what the excuse is here...perhaps the designer was digging through Grandma's closet for inspirations from vintage clothing and thought it was cool or maybe she was carrying it when she took them for ice cream as a child and seeing it gave them warm fuzzies and they wanted to share those fuzzies with the world.
Maybe next year the "in" thing at Harpers will be a velvet Elvis handbag and if that happens, remember you heard it here first folks!
I love these bags, they are adorable. But there is something funny about them that makes me feel I wouldn't like to wear them, I would just like to have them at home on a shelf to look at them.

They look like something I've seen spraypainted on trains.
Agree! Downright ugly!
haha, before i read your commentary, i was wondering where you were going with the handbags. agreed btw. i'm scared to even look at the price tag.
update: just looked at the prices. i wish you could see my head shaking right now.

i could see kate gosselin with one of those though.
Haha! It's like a really bad tattoo.
ickkkkk. ed hardy style grossness. i will never understand people who like this...
I think they're cute, with the right outfit and attitude they'd be great.
I wouldn't know where to wear them!:P
Yep. They're ugly. But I have terrible taste, so maybe they're totally chic. I wouldn't have a clue.
To each their own, but you're right, they are downright fugly. I can picture some hippie chick wearing this crap.
Yes! My first thought was old lady on cruise ship bags.
BLECH. friggin fugly. i can SO see the 60+ crowd running with these though...
i think i just threw up a little in my mouth.
These were in Harper's Bazaar? Crazy. They look like cheap souvenirs from a leather store. Or, a bad summer camp project.
These look like something you'd buy in Tijuana when you're waiting to cross the border. Am I right or what? lol
Oh wow...they are quite ugly! even Ed Hardy looks better and thats saying a lot!

If Ed Hardy's Christian Audagier (or whatever his name is) had a twin sister, she'd be designing these bags. The butterflies scare me...
Hahaha! Hideous with a capital H. The second one reminds me of an old sofa my friend used to have.

I already had a headache but now I am nauseated too.
What in God's name was one of these doing in Harper's Bazaar? I can't believe that even let them advertise one of these things.
Why would someone ever buy this bag?
What? Not a fan of ugly airbrushing on a fucking huge bag? I can't understand why not!
I also saw scrunchies in a recent issue.

Well that's just a freaking waste of leather.
Man, I'm mean today.
