Horse Hair

Did any of you see Demi Moore on Chelsea Lately a while back? That cheap hooker Demi said two things that blew me away: 1) She does not have to color her hair (BITCH!); and, 2) she uses HORSE SHAMPOO to make her hair shiny! ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

Um, if any of you can recommend a good show horse shampoo, LEAVE THE INFO IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF THIS POST!!!! I swear, I would try it! Particularly if it is cheaper than Moroccanoil Oil Treatment or Fekkai Glossing Cream!

There is one called Mane n Tail...it's a conditioner. Not sure if they make a shampoo. I had a friend in high school who was one of those horsey chicks. She didn't play with dolls as a kid, she had model horses! She swore by this stuff and her hair was very shiny.

I don't believe her. But totally tell if you find anything good.

I've heard of people using the horse shampoo before. Like Jill (above) said, it is Mane N' Tail. I've used it before but I don't use it all the time. I have friends that swear by it though. I think there is a shampoo too, though I know there is a conditioner. You can buy it at most retail stores (that carry large varieties of shampoos).

You crack me up. I'm not sure I could really use horse hair shampoo but if you try it you really have to post about it! I'd trust you but not Demi. :)

Dude!...Walmart > Mane & Tail.

Ah, Drollgirl, you always make me laugh so much. I need horse shampoo now, too! (and no idea where to get it; but I'm living in a very horse populated area, so I'm sure I can find out - I bet all the horse owners are already secretly using it, hence their shiny, expensive looking hair. And I thought they just had money...)

hold the phone a sec. i need you to tell me about this moroccan oil treatment. have you used it? does it work? i'd be willing to splurge if you recommend it.
secondly, yes, horse shampoo is supposed to be good for long hair! i used to use this "mane" shampoo they sell at all drugstores (for people, used to be for horses i guess) but i can't remember if i like it or not. it was some time ago...

LOL!! :) Do tell if you find it & use it!! :)

(Can't see the video, Hulu hates foreigners?? Xenophobia!!)

Haven't used shampoo for 2+ years, so I guess I won't be trying this one either, do tell how it works though! :)

PS If you had Ashton Kutcher for a lover you might try anything horsey too? ;)

BAHAHAHAHAH!!!! you always make me laugh EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! THANK YOU!!

Its called Mane N Tail {http://www.straightarrowinc.com/home2.asp} and its for both humans and people. You just use a different ratio for people then horses. And actually I've read about a lot of celebs using it and I would guess even more use it, just might not be vocal about it, because of endorsements {maybe}. Its a GIGANTIC bottle and lasts forever. I used to use it, all the time and I loved it {now I just use is sporadically}. The only problem for me, is that with my curls it doesn't do the best job detangling. But is still worth using it. Its also a lot less expensive then Moroccanoil and I think it works much better. {but thats totally just my opinion and I am sure for different people, and different needs, they have different reviews} I would recommend giving it a try for sure!

I've heard about people using horse shampoo, but I've never tried. Also, I'm not sure if I believe her about not coloring her hair. I mean, I don't color mine yet, but I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time!

Bathwater said...

did you ever think that celebrities might just say stupid things like that just to see how many morons will go to the store and by it.

She probably doesn't use the shampoo but she probably bought their stock before the show!

MANE N TAIL lady...get it like now!!! That stuff is AMAZING.

Gotta love Demi...she's gorgeous and smart. Of course it helps that she's rockin a younger man :)- Lol

Actually that horse hair shampoo is really cheap...my friend has used it for years and years...she buys it at Walgreens! I shit you not!

Never colored her hair? Reaaaally? I can understand if it's us common folks but a diva never ever doing a little hair dye? Suspicious!

LOL to horse shampoo!

I had received suggestions in the past for various horse-intended products that could have application on me, such as whips and crops for my backside with horse liniment afterwards or rock alum for tightening my (ahem), but I had never heard of using horse shampoo. I was also advised to eat raw eggs for my hair because told dogs get fed raw eggs to make their hair shiny. I've not done that recently being a bit concerned about salmonella. Well, hmmmm..... if horse shampoo works for Demi Moore, maybe I should avail myself of all that other stuff too.

She has great hair!! Doesn't dye it?? Wow she has good genes!

Horse shampoo? I wonder how that smells...

I use Dove. It works, but really anything works for me. Hair care is kind of like an after thought. It stay straight and thick anyway.

Mane & Tail shampoo. Two thumbs up. And yes I believe it is less expensive than Moroccan Oil. As much as I love that stuff, it is not easy on the wallet!

Char said...

i've used it before (mane & tail) and wasn't really happy with it - made my hair rather flat - but then again, i have fine, straight hair and it goes flat easily unless i use a volume shampoo.

Trixie said...

Yep mane and tail (which didn't work for me) and I'm sure SHE doesn't have to dye her hair but SOMEONE is dying it for her :P

Mrsblogalot said...

I've used Mane and Tail before but nothing ever happened...well my butt got bigger and I craved carrots but that's about it.

Elle said...

Ah, Mane and Tail...I've heard it makes your hair grow faster. I'm in the UK so we can't get it here but have heard some good things about it.

Rita/Fighting Off Frumpy said...

I've actually used Mane and Tail! It was ... all right. Nothing miraculous obviously or I'd still be using it. :)

Christina In Wonderland said...

Hmmm. I must try this Man And Tail.

jennifer from pittsburgh said...

That's it. I'm washing my hair with the beagle shampoo this weekend and I'll let you know how it works. That dog is one shiny bitch! The shuttle should be able to see me from space with all of that gleam ;)

Chic 'n Cheap Living said...

Lucy Liu definitely mentioned using Mane 'n Tail (not sure if Demi meant the same thing). Try it!

Katrina said...

Mane n' Tail. You can buy it at any Beauty Supply store. They have both Shampoo & conditioner...all kinds too...organic, super treatment...whatever the hell. It costs like $5 a bottle? It's amazing stuff!

Cheryl said...

I want to try that now. Hair tips, and a giggle every time I visit. You are a wonder, Drollgirl!

Asylum Dolly said...

haha, "Mane & Tail".Reminds me of "Blades of Glory" when Jimmy Mc Elroy discovers that Chas Micheal micheals uses it. makes your hair "shine like Orions belt" apparantly :D hehe.
I have heard of people using it!

Hmm. She doesn't have to colour her hair?? How old is she again? cough*she's a liar* cough cough

Kaz said...

I heard about Mane & Tail when I read an article in which Sarah Jessica Parker said she used it

It hasn't worked for me. I'm not cantering around the valleys, swishing my lovely locks (which is a shame seeing as I am The Filly)

I bought it from Walgreens whenever I was in the States. It's cheap

adrienzgirl said...

I can't believe she doesn't have to color her hair and only has a few grays that she pulls out! Ugh!

josie(bean) said...

hahaha. i dont know why, but ive always hated demi. probably because she goes around acting like she's the queen shit. but regardless i am quite jealous of her horse hair.

Shorty said...

Geeze... that interview makes me want to like her. And I love the idea of not liking her b/c I'm totally jealous of how good she looks after three kids. Granted it took some bucks to get there, but hey... I'd do it, too!

I've heard of Mane & Tail but nothing else rings a bell. I personally really like Hair One from Sally's... it's the knock off version of Wen which is available thru those pesky infomercials.

...love Maegan said...

she's straight lying about not coloring her hair. Just like she lies about not having any work done even though she looks completely different than she used to. There is a shampoo called Horse n' Tail that peeps use. Try it!

...love Maegan said...

sorry, Mane 'n Tail lol

I just read some of these comments -HILARIOUS!

panty buns?!?!?!?!? srsly

Mrsblogalot: THE ABSOLUTE BEST

I've seen the Mane n' Tail at every CVS in the area, but have never actually used it. Never had the need.

My hairdresser has used the Moroccanoil stuff on my hair. She gave me a free sample of it. While it's good to tame the frizzies (I've got way thick naturally curly hair), I just can't picture myself spending money on a huge bottle of it....

great interview! 'absolutely delightful' indeed. I can't help with the shampoo but for sure will check on it. :)

Mane n' Tail...they have it at Walgreens and most drugstores. I watched the whole video and she is kinda cute.

wait, what? I read it, then I watched it, then I read it again. Am stumped. And not talking about the horse shampoo, but about her not coloring her hair (and supposedly never having a single cosmetic procedure). My world is collapsing.
