DKNY
Spring 2010 Ready-to Wear

I wear a LOT of DKNY. A LOT. For some reason it just works for me. [Shameful admission: I have to get most of my DKNY clothing on sale. HORRORS]. I am not a super fashion forward chick, but I do what I can. Normally I love all things DKNY, but I know I could not make this look work. Nope. No way. Could you?

Floral pants? I don't feel a desire for them!

o.O is this like there Elite "Go to bed" look. It looks like pajama bottoms. I don't think I could make this work. The first one even the jacket would make me look too old. Even the sweater...I'm going to have to pass.

Oh I wear some DKNY too. Annie Sez has alot of their stuff at good prices. If your an Annie Sez member you get even more discounts!!

hmmm well... I THINK I could do with some of the pieces SEPARATELY lol but not as modeled oh no. I want the shoes though for sure {especially the 2nd pair} AND I BET you are fashion forward and totally gorgeous and stunning and I bet you wear all your DKNY far better then any runway model.

Happy Friday super lady!!

I could maybe pull of the pants. I definitely have no desire to pull off the pants and jacket, together. A pajama pantsuit is just not my thing ;)

Rita/Fighting Off Frumpy said...

Ahh ... no. About the only thing I could pull off would be the shoes.

Oops, did I say "pull off?" I meant "fall off."

Haute World said...

No way... especially not in Paris where patterns and colors are rarely seen. If I still lived in Amsterdam, I might get away with either the top or the trousers... but not both at once I think! Having said that... the lower look reminds me of pajamas... and the top look... like formal pajamas?

Oh, and don't worry about getting the stuff on sale. You're a smart shopper. None of the designer stuff is worth the money... their high pricing is just a marketing scheme. But maybe I'm just saying that because I got back from a sample sale ;-)

Have a great weekend!

i really like the mix of patterns so in that light, yes i would definitely try something similar. my only issue is that the floral pants look too much like pajama bottoms. working at a university, i would never want to be mistaken for a lazy student wearing pj pants around. so, no to the floral pants.

I might be able to pull this off for halloween. But that's all. :)

I must admit that here shoes throughout these recent campaigns {shown here} are TO DIE FOR. I really want a few pairs. The rest, well, up ...maybe separately, like just the pants or just the jacket. But I sure wouldn't pay DKNY prices for them. I'd find the original retarded version at a thrift shop.

DREAMER'S DEN said...

no. way.
i'd look like i forgot to get dressed and wearing pajamas.
what would tim say?!

Heyyyy...i have a top that matches the second pair of pants and it's not DKNY.

I own one thing from that label, a gray blazer that i love! Discounted of course. Have no shame :)

There is no universe in which I could make this work.

Phoenix said...

I don't even think THESE girls are making it work. And since I'm 5'4" and would like like a little kid in PJs with these outfits...

I'm gonna pass.

Andhari said...

Ouch! Pajama party much? lol

Alisa said...

No, I couldn't either. I don't even think I model makes this look work!

Caroline said...

Nope...such an 80's throw back vibe. This is too tacky for me.

Kellie said...

flower power pants? No thank you. Not my style at all.

L.A. Daze said...

Nope. Not even if I tried. I think i'd end up looking like i'm wearing PJ's or that i'm on my way to a kiddy party dressed in my flowery clown get-up.

Kristin said...

The top from outfit #2. That's about all I could make work!

Claire Kiefer said...

No desire to make any of this work!

beth said...

i could totally do the second one....well, as jammies at bedtime !

Char said...

i thought these were pajamas too

Trixie said...

I like the shoes and the shirts would be cute with jeans (on someone who can find a nice flattering pair of jeans)

And it's possible I could make the first pair of pants work......but I'd get a lot of harassment from my husband I can bet.

Overall, not my favorite looks

Also, never pay full price if you can get it clearance! The prices it costs them to make the clothes vs. how much you pay = INSANE

Umm...no. xo

Tracie said...

Nope. Although I had a couple pairs of floral pants in 1989/1990. But I was drunk 90% of the time back then so I have an excuse.

Anything that makes my hips looks puffy is a no go for me... except tutus :)

The only place I might be able to pull this off is -- no, actually nowhere. I like my pj's more oversize.

i actually really like the firstoutfit haha. but i dont think i could pull it off, i love me some floral but im like 5'3 so those baggy pants aint gonna work for me! the blazer i will take though :)

have a great weekend you stylish little lady!

I could totally pull off each item on it's own but styled as they have been for the catwalk is way too much. I would love the floral jacket and the top in the second picture, Fabulous!

Kaz said...

I think I'd look like an overstuffed sofa walking down the runway if I wore the floral suit

I've got DKNY knickers. And I think I used to have some DKNY shoes. All bought on the cheap, cos that's what I do...never pay full price unless you'd die without it (well, that sounds a bit dramatic, but you know what I mean)

stacy said...

I don't even wear pajamas to bed!

Meghan said...

I would totally rock it in bed, or laying on the couch, but that's it!

SabinePsynopsis said...

DKNY normally is such a reliable, wearable brand... but florals?? I really shy away from them (especially as trousers). We'll see...
P.S. What's wrong with sales? Sale prices = clever to me.

chaoticsense said...

the top in the second photo isn't so bad, but i really don't like the pants! they make the outfit look perfect for a cosy night in bed.

on the other hand, i did see a pair of floral pants which i liked. but they were really skinny, not like the ones seen in the photos. and with a plain top, they were actually looking good!

thanks for your comment. i love your blog.

if i was in bed, sure i could make them work. they are pajamas, right? otherwise, i'm thinking NO. - G

Normally i really like DKNY's fashions a lot. When i saw these outfits, though, the first thing i thought of was pajamas. Then i thought of the ugly pants some male golfers wear. Then i thought of male golfers at home in their pajamas. Yep. That's what they remind me of.

Pretty Little World said...

I really desperately wanted that first pair of floral peony pants, but they sold out before I could get them :(

Kitty Stampede said...

yikes, too pj/scrubs for me. I kinda dig that weird 2nd shirt though...but it would also be a no, I couldn't pull that shit off.

Kitty Stampede said...

i freaking love tim, he cracks me up hard.

simitopia said...

I would wear them.....as pyjamas! Hmmm...yes, I'm not a fan of the floral...especially as pants! Actually, any print on pants just does not get my vote! Actually, I'm not a prints gal full stop. Not that prints look bad on everyone- on some people they look fab, but on me they are just too busy- especially with my already busy hair.
I bet you have tons o' style! I wish i could see a pic of you! I have a bit of an idea in my head of what you look like, but those images you get in your head are never right! Kinda like when you read a book, and then you see the movie, and the main actors look nothing like the characters you've formed in your head!
But i know you'd be stylish, and a SASSY beeyatch to boot ;)
But getting back to the point. No, I could never make these work! I'd look like MC Hammer at a baby shower or something.

Asylum Dolly said...

D'oh! I accidentally logged in as simitopia! meh, You know it's me!
I stayed up til 4:30 am last night, and I'm on my fourth cofee. Drank em all in a row too- back to back. Consecutively even. I feel sick.

I could never make that work. Is that pajamas?
P.S. I have something for you on my blog!

vint junky said...

Hmmm...possibly the navy floral trousers in first pic, but the lighter ones just look as if they would be hugely unflattering.Ewww!

Are those pajamas? O_o

I normally love all things DKNY but this is beyond me.

Pink Blog Girl said...

I don't think I would be able to pull this off either. I do love the striped top, though. Now that I may be able to wear.

oh dear, am i the only one who likes these oufits as they are? (i.e not as separate pieces)* im going to go and find the whole collection now, thanks for the heads-up!
