Angeles National Forest

If you are in the Los Angeles area and want to get out and about in nature, check out Angeles National Forest.

The weather is gorgeous this time of year, and it is a nice and relaxing place to visit. It is a bit far away, but there isn't any traffic in this remote area (!!YAY!!), and it sure is pretty, calm and peaceful. Motorcyclists seem to like driving in this area because of the winding mountain roads, so you might see a fair amount of bikers if you visit. Tip: Pull over and let the bikers pass you, and they will be very happy. Most of them gave me a honk or a wave or a thumbs up when I showed them that courtesy.

Anywho, here are a few shots that I took when I went there yesterday.

The forest is recovering after devastating fires, but it is still pretty, and rather amazing to see the regrowth that is already taking place.

If you are interested in visiting, click here for more information and for directions. Please note that there are some road closures, so you will want to check this website for the latest information before heading up there.

Enjoy!

sorry to be an asshole ..lol. I'm glad I did it when I was young because I'm 88% sure I wouldn't do it now.

Wow! What are those cool fluffy trees in the first and last pics? They look amazing!
And may i say once again- YOU TAKE GREAT PHOTOS!
It looks really beautiful, and quite different to the forests over here (obviously!). I really really miss nature. I can't wait until my kidlet is old enough to walk around without getting tired, because there are some gorgeous places up in the mountains around here that i really want to explore.
Sounds like a nice day!

I sometimes go cycling on those windy mountain roads! Lots of fun. The pain is alleviated by the amazing scenery.

I haven't been to Los Angeles for a few years....I have to get back! Love the dry dessert(ish) air, architecture and restaurants.
Happy to see the forest is recovering. No city does forest fires quite like L.A.

Pretty. Too bad it's way too far for me to get there, but if I'm ever in the area, I hope to check it out.
