Cowboys

I saw these shots of Tom Selleck a couple of weeks ago, and they reminded me of a cowboy I once knew. I worked with this guy. He was a bit of a cowboy.  He was S.M.O.K.I.N.' H.O.T. One of those men that you just look at and think I WANT THAT. He was handsome. Charismatic. Cute. Smart. Funny. Unpredictable. Flirty. FUN. Oh that man. We used to tease and flirt, but I think he did that with all of the ladies. At first he thought I was mild and tame, and perhaps not very interesting, and then he saw me in a rage, and he heard me say something so horribly inappropriate that he raised an eyebrow, laughed out loud, and never looked at me the same way again. [Oh yes, I remember what I said, but if I wrote it here I would get complaints, so I think I'll skip it].  He liked that I could make him laugh. And vice versa.

One day at work he knew I was mad at him. He was late with something I needed, and it was holding up everything and completely fucking up my day. Late in the day, I saw him walking towards my office on our polished concrete floors. He looked sweaty and hot, and he was wearing his everyday outfit of jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat, and he was walking towards me at a pretty fast clip. I don't know how he did it, but he got a bit of a running start as he was heading towards me, then dropped to his knees, and then SLID into my office ON HIS KNEES. He skidded to a stop right in front of me, clamped his hands together above his head [and right near my peekachoo!] and begged and begged me to forgive him. I couldn't believe it. What a stunt. All I could do was laugh and shake my head [and wish I could take him to bed].

Normally I'm not much for the cowboy fellas, but this one had it goin' on. Maybe they all do? Tom Selleck sure looks like he does, too. :)

P.S. Of course this cowboy already had a girlfriend.  SIGH.  :)

Haha! You crack me up! I'll have to set you up with my cowboy friends. Where do you live again?

What a cute and funny story! Just like in movies...except in a movie he probably wouldn't have a girlfriend and you would get him in the end ;)

Can I just tell you how much I love cowboys. OMG...sex-ay! The Marlboro Man, yep. All of that. I want it all. Take me to bed cowboy! Well as long as they are not brokeback cowboys! ;)

steveroni said...

HA! Caroline said "Brokeback" cowboys LOL! (SOMEBODY had to...!)

Anyway, I liked cowboys--a LOT! But not for the same reasons YOU did, drollgirl--grin! I had my own horse from age 8-13 and I WAS "Gene Autry".

Any more I do not care for cowboys, it is not their Jeans, but their GENES that turn me off. True! In fact, most ANY "boys"...

This was made for you ;) (The photographs are of the blogger's boyfriend. Backstory = the blogger rescued a coyote when it was only four days old and has been raising it and living with it ever since. It's a fantastic blog but I think the pics of her cowboy boyfriend are definitely a highlight!)

PS the only cowboy I ever fell for was Robert Redford. Even though he's like, 80.

Hunky pics, for sure ! I "love" the idea of a cowboy, but they are probably way too conservative thinking for me to actually be involved with. :) They do LOOK good, though. :))

Sigh...i'd love for a cowboy to come sweep me off my feet. Do you read Pioneer Woman's blog?

Why is it that the good ones are taken? They really do have that certain something (well, except for the two on The Amazing Race)

OMG you are such a tease. I'm reading thinking "ok why didn't she hook up with him" and there you go and put it in a p.s. What a great story though. I've had a few relationships like that (not with cowboys though) with guys at work. Just makes it worth getting up and going in (unlike our current jobs).

Yeah... cowboys. Yum. Did you watch the Amazing Race this last season, with the cowboy brothers? They were so fun and entertaining. And as I saw them more and more on the show I kept thinking, "they's got 'em such lucky ladies back in Oklahoma." Of course, they weren't 'smokin' hot, but they were cute and their personalities raised up a few notches in my book.

Haha..That's a great story! If you like cowboys, come to the Iowa State Fair. Except these cowboys are all old, missing teeth, overweight, and slightly smelly. Actually, don't come at all.

Also, I really want to know what you said!

Haute World said...

Oh poo... I was just going to command you to take the cowboy to bed, but that was before I read he had a GF. Those are some good shots of Tom Selleck though... one of the few men on this planet that can pull off a moustache.

Girl, you should write romance novels - you would make a KILLING!

Peekachoo, LOL. Awesome story. He sounds hot.

one of the saddest days of my life was when they quit making Magnum P.I......Tom is just ....everything! Your buddy sounds pretty hot too....Some men are just irresistable!

Being from Houston, Texas and all...you would think that I would be into cowboys. Not...oddly enough, I never see any cowboys.

But if I worked with one who had the swagger of "your" cowboy...he would've tapped more than my peekachoo.

Char said...

real cowboys can be wayyyyy hot. but they also can be the biggest @holes in the world.

Yes I think Tom is smoking hot too, I think it's the moustache!

Ah yes, Tom Selleck. *sigh*. lol. Some guys just look better and better as they age. Like George Clooney. What a geek he was on Facts of Life, lol. NOW look at him.

Okay, sorry, cowboys. Yes, ;o)
And your story is awesome. And pretty hot for an office story. lol

Christiejolu said...

Oh Ok he had a girlfriend...I was going to say "Why didn't you take him to bed!" He sounded hot...

I couldn't focus on your post. I was distracted by Tom Selleck. Though I have no use for cowboys, I can get with anything he's trying out.

Asylum Dolly said...

That was a great recollection! I was hoping you get to get it on with him at the end,but sadly, the GF part came along instead. Sigh!
I am very keen for men who enjoy women who get very angry and say inappropriate things. If more men liked fiesty lasses like us, the world would be a sexier place.
Like you, i'm not much of a cowboy lover, but i could see how this guy could charm himself into any lady's underpants.I've known such men...there is just something about them that says "i know all the right moves in the sack", and that is always quite enticing :)
And also, yes- there is something about Tom Selleck! I have no idea what ...but there is something do-able about the man!

Chic 'n Cheap Living said...

I love that story! Who can resist a cowboy on his knees?!

Len♥reNeverM♥re said...

You are definitely not 'the other woman' material! Hee-Hwa to hot cowboys though~

Cheryl said...

Oh yeah....that cowboy you knew sounded totally hot. I would have been so in love! Tom Selleck, for a guy his age, isn't bad either.

Ohhhh I love this. All of it - the story, the pictures, Tom Selleck. I am pretty sure it was my secret love for cowboys that made me marry an American :).

ps. Nice job on the new blog design! x
