Would Your Dad Wear This?

drollgirl polo ralph lauren

If I gave this outfit to my Dad for Father's Day, I think he would beat me with his shoe.

I don't always "get" man fashion. I don't. Neither does my Dad, as he is often wearing Levi's 501 Jeans with white tube socks and church shoes.

Anywhoo, if you like this look it is available for purchase here.

Ya, my Dad is quite fashionable but he would never wear this! I don't like it at all.

Even Malibu Ken in the photo doesn't look good in that outfit.

You mean right now? Not twenty years ago? You mean this outfit is available to the general public in 2010? That is way too funny.

My dad is a fed so he looks like Tommy Lee from Men in Black... Even when he isn't working... But we love him anyway.

My dad might but he is 70, I wouldn't I don't like sweaters or 50% of the shorts out there I did buy a pair of shorts from guess this year that are cool. They go below the knee and are black.

Well, my dad was very carefull with his clothes... but I'm not seeing he wearing this as I knew it. Maybe in his early years ;-)

Hope all is great with you my dear, I'm getting better and returning slowly to blogland.

My dad wouldn't but my bf SO WOULD and I would have to accept it...do I?

I admit that I kinda like the preppy look on guys but I need for them to have some facial hair or a tattoo or give me a good cussing out to balance it all out.

My husband and I just had a conversation about the weird outfits in men's clothing catalogs.

I guess somebody buys the stuff.

No. My dad would never wear that (he prefers plaid or Hawaiian-print shirts, LOL). And neither would my husband, who is also a dad.

That guy looks JUST like a living Ken doll, doesn't he?! And Ken would TOTALLY wear that.

just even trying to picture my dad wearing this makes me totally LOL...and EVEN MORE SO picturing my husband in it HAHA!!!

Hilariuos! A big no to my father wearing this!

LOL! Hell would freeze over before my dad would wear that (or my husband, for that matter). Ha!

Heather Taylor said...

I think my Dad might wear this. Not sure how he would feel about the shorts, but the top part he'd probably wear.

Alisa said...

No, my dad would laugh at this. My grandpa would have worn this on the golf course, but the pants would have been pulled up much higher.

Down and Out Chic said...

hahahaha, no my dad would not wear this. his attire is much like your dads, but instead of shoes it's usually slippers.

Maybe if my dad was on the gay side he would, and had a slim physique. I'm sure there are some fashion-forward gay gentlemen that would give this outfit a whirl. The more I look at this the more I want to wear it! I'm kind of tom-boyish somedays...

I usually get to do the clothes shopping, even for B. He's pretty basic, like, "I need shorts," or "I could use shirts."

When I shop for him, there's always my idea of what I know he'd look good in and then there's what he'd actually wear.

The clothes that guy has on don't fit into either category.

tulpen said...

Is it me or does this guy's package look HUGE?

Oh, what was the question?

NO. Dad wouldn't wear it. Neither would Hubby. Because both of them are STRAIGHT.

Pinecone Camp said...

I'm with tulpen! A lovely look, if you are a gorgeous gay man.

I'd be seriously worried if my Dad rocked up in this ensemble. Those shorts are particularly awful in my opinion!

um my dad would not wear this- he's more of an old man dresser- My husband would wear it if I told him to cuz I AM THE BOSS OF THE WORLD- or OUR WORLD.
That guy does not look like a dad- more like a college kid.

Can I call him Daddy? hee hee!
No, my dad wears suspenders and old man slippers! But he is an old bad a$$ :)

My Dad wouldn't even wear this as a costume.

What an advert, it even managed to make the hunky male (not in my eyes, this comment was under advisement from Mrs B) model look shit. We should probably be celebrating its honesty a rare thing in advertsing where the advertisers can get away with airbrushing to sell expensive useless beauty products…..

asweetcakes said...

Lol!! That's terrible! He would NEVER NE-VER wear something like this. And frankly, i can't imagine any guy who would, except he was auditioning for Stepford Husbands or something.

Thanks for all your comments drollgirl *blushes*

Sadly, my dad would totally wear that jumper (that's what we call "sweaters" in oz ;) ). But in a different colour.I can say this with confidence, as he has some in navy blue. I think there's a brown one too from memory.
The shorts are hideous! The top half isn't so offensive to my eye, BUT the fact that it reminds me of something my dad would wear makes it impossible to be sexy, for obvious reasons :S

How cheesy is the photo???! I bet when that guy walks, his knees and elbows do not bend.

My gay dad would wear this ...but not let my other gay dad borrow it because he always stretches his clothes out.

Caroline said...

Maybe if my dad were into other dad's...but he's not. So nope...won't be buying this for him ;)

i would shite my pants if i seen my dad in this.

I think my dad had this actual outfit...grass-green IZOD sweater, polo underneath, and plaid shorts, white socks, and loafers. (or golf shoes, on the green, you know) But picture the outfit on, like, Drew Carey instead...to get a better idea of the physique...
* ; )

I love your new header, DG! the battle of dark vs. light catzillas!

i don't really know a man that would wear that fashion. however, my dad has NO fashion. like, he is negative fashion. spongebob t-shirt and mork (from ork) suspenders. i am NOT (sadly) kidding.

Karisa Tells All said...

haha my dad wouldn't even wear anything that color. He only wears black, grey, and tan lol. The other day he wore a red tshirt and my brother and i were like "what are you wearing??"

awesome blog header!!! it looks great!

oh gosh. my stepdad would accuse him of being gay or say something so offensive and uncomfortable. i'd rather get the shoe!

Um no. And no. lol. My dad is a retired cop. He may still have a gun. I wouldn't want anything to 'happen' to me, LOL
