All Signs Point to....

Just got back from a trip to Oregon. I spent much of the time hiking (and snapping over 800 photos! Cripes! Don't worry, I promise I won't torture you by posting all of those photos on this blog!!!). For some reason I noticed there were zillions of signs everywhere, many of them informative, many of them cute, many of them hilarious, but some of them just made me stare and wonder what the hell?! :)

Snicker.  I'd love to live on Kampy Lane!

June and I became fast friends.  I mean June THE CAT and I became fast friends.

Where is the sign explaining this?  They look like boobs.

I am glad to see that the mermaid beauty standards have slipped a bit.  Or at least they have in Oregon.

$14 houses?!  I'll take two!

I must have been born here.

Do all trash containers need these warnings?!

Gah.  These tsunami warning signs were EVERYWHERE, and they freaked me out.  The fear of tsunamis might just keep me away from coastal living (not to mention the price of beach-y real estate).  EEEE!!!

Oh you know I do.  GROAN.

I wish I knew an Elsie that I could give this to!

Very particular about their trash here.

I am thinking that a smarty rode his bike off this dock, hence the need for a sign.  DOY.

EH?!  WHAT KIND OF MUSEUM?!  I think you can see this sign from space.

A MAINTENANCE REQUIRED LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD OF MY RENTAL CAR!?!?!  This was the ONLY thing that made me scream the F word for the entire week.  @#&;%^!   Note: I did not return the rental car and exchange it for another.  I told the car to SUCK IT UP for three more days and approximately 400 more miles,  OR ELSE I WOULD BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF IT.

Kids don't float.  BAH!!!!

This one is hard to see, but it is a sign that says KEEP OUT.  You don't have to tell me to keep out of church.  Done and DONE!

Tee hee

This one has a bit of a sexual connotation, no?

P.S. Thanks so much to all of you that wished me a happy birthday.  And EFF YOU  to those that didn't bother to.  Kidding.  Kind of?  HA.  Anywhoo, I missed seeing all of your blogs while I was away, and will try my best to catch up on comments as soon as possible!

Those are really cool! That would make a cool coffee table book or something.

And the De Young is amazing! They always have the great exhibits. The last one I went to was the Tutankhamun one. I loved it.

I also love how it says June the cat on the tag.

I love that you threatend your rental car. I threaten things all the time.

I love the photos, and I want to see the interior of the $14 house. I'd buy the shit out of one and spend my lifetime remodeling it.

So happy you had a good birthday, welcome back.

The upside sown bicycle and your comment had me in stitches. I've always wondered about signs like that. What kind of idiot was here before and how much did he get in the lawsuit settlement? - G

Damn, one of those Oregon mermaids can turn a bitch to stone with her ugliness.

Okay, I know what your BOOB's are. Well, not YOUR boobs but the ones in the photo. Incase you are wondering (and you probably don't care but) they are covers for your water spout. You put them on in the winter to help keep them from freezing and busting. But boobs are much funnier.

Kids don't float! I love that one. I also love the fact that they provided life jackets to use on the honor system. Don't see that much these days anywhere.

Welcome home, girlie!

These are so funny. Especially the Mermaid Xing, I have to admit.

Love the signs! I like to read those while I'm vacationing, too. It always amazes me what people in different regions are concerned with or are trying to discourage.

The dumpster diving should be one of those 'givens' that wouldn't require a sign, but you know people these days. Matter of fact, I just saw a blip on the news yesterday about people using a dumpster as a swimming pool somewhere around me. Granted, it was lined with some kind of canvas-y type of material and the water looked clean, but still.... eesh.

Christiejolu said...

I want to go there now!!!

I love the mail box with the pirate skull...Very cool....

chloe said...

gosh, tsunami warnngs do really make you think twice about living on the beach eh? although jaws also made me scared of anything close to open water, heh.
love all the signs, and how cool to go on holiday on your own!? ive got a 3-week work trip coming up: 3countries with no fellow-companion, eek! i will think of you :)
