But every now and again I wish I could run away, and cave life sounds like it would be a nice change of pace. :)
Well, as long as I had all of the amenities like running water, electricity, DSL, etc., plus a hunky man by my side to take care of any bats, wild animals, and/or creepy crawlies.

I second that... as long as I have the world at my fingertips and a hunky guy then bring on the cave... otherwise I would be a big baby come night fall.
UGH! You and me both. I'd love to pack my yellow duffle bag and go as far as JetBlue will carry me for $213. The idea of a cave being at my destination would be perfect. I want the kind of place Osama bin Laden would hide in if he had $213 and JetBlue ... where only an angry baby mama could find me. Although realistically, if he owed taxes probably the IRS would find him as they will likely find me.
Although, the 4th picture looks too much like a hornet's nest so it would freak me out more than a little.
These are incredible!!! I would love to live in a community like this and pretend I was elves living in Mordor.
Seriously, hunky men sometimes are more scared of spiders than me. It is the most frustrating thing ever.
Those are so cool!!! But yeah no creepy crawlies for sure!!!
I could live in a cave. Cold, dark...
i would stay a night then come home to the city LOL
Some of these remind me of ant houses. Ant hills. Ant holes. Okay, what do you call them??
Cool post!!
hahhahaha...Ditto woman, Ditto!
I'm kind of more on the cabin in the woods side of things but same idea. ;P
these are so cool. Hopefully they wouldn't be too echoey though.
OMG...I wanna live in a cave (with a hunky man...and some food and water...that's it).
As a kid I was always so fascinated by cave houses, these days I think they are a bit dark. On the other hand, it's normally pretty hot where they are.
I also had so much to answer to your comment yesterday but was too tired, so I left it for today... What shall I say - shouting is just the beginning! (and the hunky man definitely had to rescue me)
These are actually really awesome ... and some of them, for being what they are, look surprisingly cozy!
Oh my freaking gosh. YES. These cave dwellings are ridiculously insanely fabulous. It would be like living in a really cool fantasy movie. I didn't even know places like these even EXISTED!!
I would love to spend a few days in a cave. I've watched some shows about the nicer ones on the Travel Channel. They look super cool.
way cool but the flinstone life is not really my style.
i need cityscapes, people, and all the hustle and bustle that goes with it.
i want to go there!
I would love to live in a cave. I love the Petra-looking one. Great post.
A) I love cliff dwellings and caves because we have a shitload of them in the Southwest
and
B) I'd love to crawl into a cave and hide right now, so this post is very apropos.
I'm trying to crawl into the screen right now.
Ahem!!!! No thank you *polite curtsy here* i'd take iron and glass skyscrapers anytime anyhow!
Who knew there were so many different types of dwellings like that? I'd love to explore!
I lived in a cave for a couple of months outside of the village of Matala, Crete, Greece....it was 1973 and the hippie, vagabond lifestyle suited me just fine....those were the days!.....
Seriously so incredible and organic and yes hope it comes with a handyman and plumbing (ooh maybe some great indoor pools?)
Those are amazing! I wouldn't mind hanging out in one of those as long as there was TV, plumbing, cell phone reception, and AC/heating.
I'm not that picky.
Seriously sign me up. Those look amazing!
LOL yes, i'm with the ones - as long as it has cable and water facilities
I'm not living anywhere without running water and electricity. PERIOD. But the pictures are amazing!
Oh, wow, they are beautiful! I would love to just vacation a few days there! My first thought was ah, bats! I had a bat in my house this summer! I did an army crawl out the front door, as I am having a heart attack! It is a long story, but my neighbor came to help me and didn't find it ! It was in my house for a week, AH! When Jeremy came to see me It came out and he killed it!
So, there is my bat story, ha ha, anyway nice caves!
gi gi
I could totally go for that! What an awesome collection of photos. When we were in Amsterdam we saw these really cool apartments made out of the wine cellars and shop storage rooms that lined the canals. I thought that those would be cools places to live. I've also always wanted to live in some sort or evil James Bond lair underwater that had windows and skylights that looked out onto coral reefs and gigantic sharks swimming by. - G
These are so amazingly pretty! I especially am fond of the ones that have mosses growing all about. Even though I imagine living in one would be less than ideal, it definitely does seem kind of romantic!
What an amazing set of pictures !
I like living in the city too, well for the most part...
I hate taxi drivers, buses and loud neighbors.
interesting! very very very INTERESTING. i dont mind visiting these places. seriously.
I love them all.
Now, I need a bone for my hair.
talk about a getaway, these would definitely fit the bill for a little escape. i wonder if any of these have wireless? i wouldn't doubt it!
Like you, I want a hunky man to take care of all the scary things out there. Love the looks of these...and wouldn't you just love inviting people over for dinner.:)
