Yesterday I had to meet with a designer, a construction superintendent, a construction manager and a cabinet maker. We had a meeting that lasted over two hours, and it was pretty exhausting. We were reviewing drawings, arguing, revising, and finally stopping by the job site to take measurements and try to visualize potential plans.
At one point the designer (female) asked the men in the group to pick up various materials and make a mock-up area of an office space that we could all visualize. They did so. As she was screeching orders and the men were jumping to and fro to do her bidding, she said, "Give me eight inches." Well, of course I had to stifle a laugh, and so did the construction manager as he muttered, "That's a tall order, lady, but I'll do what I can."
Needless to say, that was the highlight of the meeting!
