Is This Really Necessary?

?!?!?!

whitesnake wine

As heard about on a recent episode of That Metal Show.

Full disclosure...I have not tried the wine, but I HAVE been listening to this Whitesnake CD a lot lately.

This song in particular is REALLY GOOD.

I know, I know, this will probably be viewed as a shameful admission by some of you. But it really is a great CD -- at least it is to me. :)  And, yes, I am at that age where listening to the oldies but goodies is more fun than keeping up with all of the current music.  If this age/stage hasn't hit you yet, it probably will someday.  :)

P.S. I realize the Whitesnake reference/band will be lost on 90% of you, particularly if you are under 35 and/or if you were never in to rock or hard rock or heavy metal.  OH WELL.

Ha! Well, I have never been into rock but I certainly know how weird it is to listen to oldies when they aren't my parent's oldies. So weird.

count me in to the 10% of your readers who are totally familiar with whitesnake! {i may or may not have tried to do a cartwheel across two cars when i was younger} that wine is hilarious! i wonder if it grows your hair real big too. i have friends who are super snooty about wine, and i would LOVE to give this to them and see if they can identify the hint of bodacious, sexy, snakeyness. "oh yeah, these hot tub jollies really bring out the snakeyness..."

If they can guarantee snakeyness and hot tub jollies with every bottle, I'm in!!
By the way, I still secretly want to cartwheel into the splits, while wearing a white dress, on the hood of some poor sap's car. Out of the clear blue. Just for kicks. Wouldn't that be a fun thing to get arrested for?

That's awesome! Maynard from Tool is making wine too! It's called Caduceus.

I just saw the documentary about it, called "Blood Into Wine" and it was actually pretty interesting and a little funny! What else are these old rockers gonna do?

Good God, the ad says that it will soon be available 'internationally'. That means it will be in Canada too. Why couldn't Whitesnake have just branded rolling papers, condoms, or spandex instead? Seems like a better fit, dontcha think? - G

Zinfandel is already the official "classy" drink of trashy people everywhere, adding Whitesnake to the bottle doesn't really hurt either brand. Official band of trashy people in a Trans Am, now and forever! :)

And whatever you want to say about Whitesnake, they've had some ridiculous talent on guitar over the years.

First of all, it looks gorgeous in here!

And secondly...did someone mention wine? Yeah, that's really all it takes for me.

Anyone who doesn't know Whitesnake doesn't deserve to read your blog anyway. ha. But WTF is up with this wine?? I confess, I kinda want to try it. While jamming to Whitesnake. HA!

Dude, when I was 17, I caught Adrian Vandenberg's pick.

Embarrassing now, yes. Would I drink this wine? Only if I wasn't around any judgmental people ;)

Oh no... is this their method of a comeback?? And I'm under 35 and know who they are, though I've never owned any of their albums. I did have 'Is this Love' on a mix tape, which is probably why them referencing it in that ad is a little cringeworthy to me. I wonder how much they had to do with the actual production though. I know that at least Maynard James Keenan owns his own vineyard/winery and is very involved in the whole process. This reeks of bad marketing. Stick to the music guys!

That's okay. I still listen to The Smiths and Morrissey all the time. I liked the Whitesnake videos with that ho rolling all over the damn car hood.

Love you.

lol- I don't need themed overpriced shit wine to get me all hot and bothered- cheap beer or diet coke and vodka has the same effect. but i saw this and it made me think of your post! http://www.popcrunch.com/ron-jeremy-is-selling-rum/

This is clearly going to show my age, but I have no idea who the band Whitesnake is...and I usually know bands too!

Is this love that i'm feelin... I'm under 35 and i know them, but them i was a cheesy rocker/hippy/goth/shoegazer...it changed weekly. Think i was embarassed about liking them at the time, like Jovi, they were too soft. But now i'll blast it out of the car.

I'd actually buy the wine just for the name, i know longer drink. It's a sad life....
