the road shot reminds me of vasco road between livermore and brentwood here in norcal. it's a super creepy road where many people die from car crashes. eeks!
I agree with Vivienne up there. These do feel lonely. And kinda makes me have a sad. Although it could just be because of the mood I'm in..having to hear allergy med talk for hours in the office....gah.
After the movie Contact came out in 97, I had this crazy desire to move out West and work at a little truck stop and sit at the edge of the Grand Canyon every night. Now, instead of seeming simple and peaceful, it does look lonely.
Wow! Love these. Eerie, colourful, vibrant and dreary - reminds me of the time we drove to Bombay Beach, outside of Palm Springs. It was one of the most surreal experiences I have ever had. I wish I had taken more pictures while we were there. - G
oh wow, these are amazing. i love art depicting life of the west. the history and stories these photos suggest are so intriguing to me. maybe it's because i grew up out east.
I LOVE THESE. So much. Especially the Los Cowboys one. I would totally frame these in my house . . . they make me want to go on a road trip right this very minute. Checking out the artist's page.
Astonishing, fantastic shots. They seem so simple and yet they are composed just beautifully. That McDonald's in front of the fire....wow. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! She makes me feel uneasy and uncomfortable and intrigued all at once - very cool! Some of these shots are possibly universal and could be taken from any big western country...very interesting.

OH man, that second to last one is so haunting. Such a stark way to show how people live. PS... I would not trust that Chinese restaurant.

Some great photography. I'm just rediscovering 'proper' photography (you know, not the streetstyle stuff you see everywhere now).
love these!...it's like a road trip and an acid trip all at the same time... iconic images...so much atmosphere...they are fabulous....
