The Man Who Fell To Earth

the-man-who-fell-to-earth-mid

The Man Who Fell to Earth was released in 1976. I just saw the movie for the first time, so I am only 35 years late to this particular party. HA. Anywhoo, I loved the movie. David Bowie has the lead role. His face and his features are positively MESMERIZING. I kept pausing the movie and just looking at the beautifully composed shots.  Some of my favorites are here in this slideshow:

This is a weirdo sci-fi flic, so it is not going to appeal to everyone. But if you are a David Bowie fan, or a sci-fi fan, you might just like it.

i've never seen this, but i've always wondered about it. i'm a big david bowie fan, i'm not going to lie. i'm a child of the labyrinth days and i grew up singing his songs. we even had our friend sing two of his songs at our wedding on the classical guitar in portuguese {the seu jorge covers from "the life aquatic with steve zissou"}. oh david bowie...

You do know how much I love him right? You read that blog from a couple months ago about the piece of Bowie art I won at auction? So yes, I've definitely seen this. Not a million times, but a few. It is my absolute FAVORITE phase of his appearance. When I was in high school, I had a poster of him from this era hanging on my wall above my bed. *swoon*

He touched me.
I drank after him.

I love the film. I saw it over in England in 1984. Laugh. That's how old my ass is.

To me, David Bowie is the best-looking human being on the planet. And he is also one of the coolest.

Have a great weekend!

I always thought that when i watched Labyrinth, his facial structure is insane, and the leather pants & sparkly makeup doesn't hurt either :)

It's sad to say I've never seen this movie. I need to get on that...

I think he's sexy in a weird way... can't quite explain it. Maybe it's because he looks elfish? IDK! Oddly, I used to find Tilda Swinton sexy in that same way, but her latest pictures in W magazine has me thinking twice. She's now freaky... but Bowie.. he's sexy. I blame my mother's love for him, which began with his song "China Girl".

I read the book in grade school and loved it and heard they had made a movie out of it, but as reading the book always spoils the movie I never got around to seeing this one, although it did sound like Bowie was perfect for the role.

I saw this AGES ago. I think I was too young to fully appreciate it, so I'll definitely have to rewatch. Love Bowie. Strangely, I had a weird dream about him the other night (I was in surgery, he was the doctor... I completely freaked... haha).

I am not really attracted to him but he is sooo unique and interesting to look at. and I LOVE his tunes. he was definitely break through in so many ways for his time...huge.

Oh yes! Very good eye candy for peeps who like a bit of "odd" and "eerie" with their sci-fi! However, as much as I love this movie I don't think I've ever watched it up to the the end - not quite sure why that is....
