It has been so terribly hot and humid in Southern California over the last several days that I spent much of the weekend WHIMPERING and desperately trying to avoid being outside during the day. SO SO SO HOT. Unrelenting heat and humidity equal pure misery for wussy folks like me. WAH.  Right about now I am wishing that I lived closer to the beach. But maybe a beach that is a bit less crowded than those pictured above.  :]

P.S. LOVE that these shots show less-than-perfect bods at the beach. YAY!

Love these! (except the hairy back man... ewwww)
Living at the beach is the best. I don't take advantage like I should but I try to at least go once a week. Especially when it's balls hot like it's been!

Reason #244 why I never want to be photographed @ the beach. Hopefully cooler temps are on the horizon for you and for scorching, drought ridden Texas. Back to the beach for you!

yup, living near the beach is the best! went swimming 3x yesterday. um, you don't mind that i'm rubbing it in your face, do you?

I live a a block away from the beach.
But can't go in it because it's contaminated, full of sewage and floating floaties.
The one I CAN go to is about an hour away and I still never go. I am so use to it being "there" that I guess I don't appreciate it.
Yes, floaties.

These are awesome! Love them! That lady in the snoopy towel, that's me at the beach. It's way too hot lately. Hopefully it cools down soon!

I love the colors in these photos, very vintage feeling, but the people in them look modern. cool effect.

Twas no better here babe! Cloudy and hot and muggy! Blahhhh...But we did get a bitchen rainey monsoon/thunderstorm on Sunday. Love the beach pics-specially the zinc oxide one. That's pet peeve#1 to me. "People who don't rub in their sunscreen all the way"

Ha, love that expression on the little kid's face. Our temps here are nowhere near as warm, but I really could do with a beach vacay (in a less crowded beach - I agree). I'm all about the more natural bodies as well, but that hairy back does scare me...

I AGREE. It's been SO hot around Southern CA these few days...I've been staying inside with the AC blasting! :) I wish I could have made it to the beach this weekend, but with all the crazy crowds, I'm glad I didn't try :)

These photos are awesome! They remind me of Lilo & Stitch :)

Oh man, the beach right now sounds absolutely amazing.
Hairy always fascinate me as my man has about four chest hairs and the smoothest back.

Hahaha! These are great! Love the guy looking at the magazine photo of the bikini clad woman as he's sitting next to his bikini clad woman. Awesome. :)

And the heat...I'm with you. Why, oh why, are most apartments in L.A. sans air conditioning? Ugh.

Summer is my winter. My garden is dead and I hibernate. Venture out only when it's dark...even for groceries or gas. I only ever go to the beach in a blue moon when it's cloudy. All that bright glare is death to me and the greased burnt/red bodies make my armpits stick together. I drive in weird positions to avoid the sun and can often be seen with arm up or wrapped around my body to fit the shade. I dream about vacationing in the southern hemisphere every summer and seek out Australian blogs to read to hear about the cold and look at the pictures. I feel envy when people in the northeast complain about the rain or number of overcast days they get a year. I just have to find a job there and I'd be there in a second.

I'm dread the approach of dead winter...

I feel you with this whole heat and being a sissy thing. I may or may not stand in front of my fridge debating what to eat longer than necessary cause of the frosty goodness it provides me with:)

Haha I love that kid! I hear ya, I am a heat and humidity wuss too :( And its only the beginning of summer. Boo....

If it makes you feel better Texas is a furnace as well. Oh and the people who go to the beach seam to look less like the hard bodies suggested to always end up at the beach. I feel much better now I think I may have to pull that bikini out :)

These photos are great, definitely. Not a skinny person in sight! And red speedo guy cracks me up. I love that no one seems to realize they're being photographed.

I detest the heat with every fiber of my being, and believe me, it's torture down here in NOLA. I haven't even been to the pool in my building yet. I burn like a lobster and I have high-maintenance hair, so screw that. I'll stay inside and crank up the AC to the point of snuggling under blankets!

Awww... reminds me of why I don't like going to the beach.

Oh dear! California sounds exactly like Sydney in late January - absolutely unbearable and to be avoided at all costs! These photos remind me of the reason why I don't go to the beach! Ah! I see Gabbi just said that too - great minds and all that!!!
