Garden Inspiration

I have been trying to spruce up my yard, so thought I would show you some plant/garden-related photos that I have taken in the last year or so.

There is no end to creativity in the garden. It is so fun and so fab, and such a nice way to get down and dirty.  :)  Maybe one or two of these pics will inspire you. :)

My favorite things lately are the "non-traditional" planters. They are so fun and so whimsical, and a great way to repurpose items that would normally head to the trash. My mom goes to a lot of garage sales, and recently picked up 4 silver teapots for $1 each. She gave them all to me, and I am using them as pots. :)

P.S. Some of my favorite garden stores in California are:

I miss gardening the way I used too! In our old house our yard was green grass, walls of bougainvillea and creeping myrtle, hydrangea bushes, hibiscus and roses all the live long day. I'd plant annuals and succulents here and there and I LOVED being out there. Now, with the crazy heat we have here, I can barely keep a palm tree alive let alone bushels of flowering beauties. Blah.

You GARDEN?!!! How did I not know you were so cool? I love hearing about people and their gardens. It's such a neat thing coming from a city gal like myself, like a unicorn at Wal Mart. I just like gardens. I think it comes from my love for the movie Secret Garden.

I have a bunch of old car tires I need to cut and turn inside out to use as planters.

soooo pretty. i love all of the cactus represented! I am really wanting a decent-sized yard to try some of this out. We just have a small balcony and I struggle to do much out there. I would love to have some space!

my FIL has a fantastic garden of flowers, vegetables, herbs and wonderful trees (walnut, apple etc) and he also grows grapes.

Lots of good inspiration!! I like non-traditional planters too. I used an old tool box and some wooden crates in my garden this year. Do you just do flowers, or are you growing edibles as well? So far only my strawberries are ready to eat, but soon we will have tomatoes, blueberries, blackberries, peppers, broccoli...can't wait!

Girl, you know you have my heart with this post! My favorite thing EVERRRRR. Seriously, these pictures are awesome. Composition wise, I absolutely love that bright pink wall with the rogue grass growing out the sidewalk. I'd totally print that thing in a 24x36 and hang it on my wall. It's amazing! This just goes to show me that you are so super talented. SUPER talented. I'm jealous. I hope you keep updating on the yard front. <3 You know I'm a sucker for gardens and yards.

Much Love,
Trissta
