Have A Safe Flight!

The other day my boss asked me how my flight to Albuquerque was.  I told him it was ok.  He knows I DO NOT like flying, but I told him that it went pretty well, and that taking half a Xanax before each flight made things more tolerable.

My boss seemed pleased to hear this, and then he told me that I should talk to one of our clients (Gary -- a really nice guy that wears a gag-inducing amount of cologne and has a girlfriend that is a dead ringer for Olivia Newton-John) about his 1989 United Airlines Flight 811 from Hawaii.  He mentioned that during this plane trip Gary witnessed the cargo door burst open mid-flight, and he saw two rows of people in front of him get sucked out of their seats and ejected from the plane. OMFG!!!!!!!!!  So I found information on-line about this horrendous accident.  Click here if you want to read about it.

And, thanks boss for reassuring me about how safe it is to fly.  OMFG!!!!!

My co-worker knows that I really don't like flying, and he has a girlfriend that really doesn't like flying either. He has done a fair amount of research on the safety (OR LACK OF SAFETY) of flying.  He told me about this test and said I might not want to watch it.  HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

But then he sent me this video that is somewhat reassuring as to how much goes on behind the scenes when pilots land a plane.

UGH!!!  It is all so unnerving and I don't think I will ever like flying!!!!  Hurtling through space in a metal tube isn't my idea of a good time!!!!

I love flying! Settling in with a nice cocktail and some magazines. Listening to weirdo people yack away and then POOF! You're somewhere new! I get more anxiety driving on the 10 from Scottsdale to L.A.

Omg. I'm riddled with anxiety anticipating my flight to Puerto Rico. It's not direct so, 4 take off and landings I have to endure in one week. AND I've never been in a real plane. A little over a year ago, D and I went skydiving for his 30th b-day. So yeah, my first time ever in a plane was a single engine rickety thing and then I jumped out of it from 12K feet so... I keep telling myself if I can do that... I can do anything.
Still bringing xanax.

My favorite part of this post? The fact that you labeled it "sharing is caring". Ha! Screw your boss! That was mean of him. By the by, I am in the 'love to fly' category. "Love" might be a bit strong but I still really like the process. That makes sense given I'm a "the journey is the destination" kinda gal. Just focus on the goal (getting there) and the stats (flying is much less dangerous than SO many other things). You can dooooooo it. Or, alternatively, take a xanax, order a vodka and call it a day.

I've never been a fan of flying either. I love the idea of travelling, but it's more about actually reaching the destination; not the journey. I get nauseous especially with long flights. I guess I need Xanax as suggested.

i don't like to fly because i get bored and a little claustrophobic. I hate sitting there and not being able to move about. I never sleep on flights, even to Australia. Even with meds, I'm awake. Because if I'm awake, the plane will be fine. Total sense.

I thought film 1 was ok until second 26 as it looked the plane was actually quite able to drive in sand... only then was it visible that not much was left :(
But you're not alone. I just heard that every 4th person has fear of flying. And after watching these probably EVERY person!!
