Zip It

I think most of us have experienced zipper trouble at one time or another.

The other day I was trying to figure out what to wear to work, and I saw one of my favorite dresses -- a dress that zips up in the back.  I never wear this dress because I can't quite reach to zip it all the way up.  But the dress is really, really cute, so I decided to wear it anyway. I put it on and zipped it up as far as I could, and then got in the car to drive to work. I was pretty sure I could get the dress zipped up all the way with some assistance, but I wasn't sure who I would ask for help. Ask my boss to zip me up? NO. Ask my male co-worker to zip me up? NO. Ask a security guard or parking attendant to zip me up?  NO.  While I was mulling all of this over, I stopped to get gas.  Conveniently enough, there was a man filling up his truck next to my car. I took a deep breath, walked over to him, curtsied, and told him I'd give him a dollar if he would zip up my dress. He raised an eyebrow, laughed, zipped me up and waved away my attempts to give him a dollar! HOORAY!!! Win/win!

I love this story!
When I was in grade school, I had to wear a plaid uniform jumper with a zipper down the back. Once I was old enough to walk to and from school on my own, I had to get dressed each morning before my mom left for work so she could zip me up AND even worse, wait to get out of my uniform until she got home each day and could unzip me. It was horrible so I learned how to contort my arm enough that I could zip in and out on my own and minimize the time I had to spend in that jumper.

Ha ha, this surely made his day!

Re the pictures: I'm no stranger to zip troubles, but wasn't quite aware how creeped out they could make me.

HAHAHAHAHA OH MY LORD I LOVE YOU. I always pull the contortionist move and somehow manage it on my own. You are seriously the best ever.

Much Love,
