Do you wear the Spanx?

A while back Rue la la had a sale on Spanx, and I ordered some. I had never tried them before, but figured I could use a little help in the SMOOTHING OVER/JIGGLE REDUCTION factor, so I bought a lot. When I received them and tried on a pair, I HATED them. OUCH! So horribly tight, constricting and painful! I suppose that is the POINT of them, but I just couldn't handle it. My one and only experience with Spanx lasted about 30 seconds! Bleh! Never again!

I was talking with one of my boyfriend's sisters recently, and somehow the Spanx topic came up. She said she LOVES wearing Spanx. Absolutely LOVES them. She said she wears them under everything, including jeans. She said sometimes she even SLEEPS in them. ?!?!??!?!??! She also wore them while pregnant -- just for the first few months (?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?) and was so relieved to be wearing them every day again after giving birth.

Your thoughts on the Spanx?

Ok so I have never worn spanx but there is a lot data on the value of compression as it relates to health and recovery. Now obviously there is a limit--I am not talking about foot-binding but compression sleeves, underwear and socks are trending up in value. So maybe there a value beyond less wiggle -- but maybe I am just in an optimistic mood.

Not a fan at all! I tried them once when I accidentally bought spanx instead of tights. Honestly, I feel even fatter with them on since they are so restricting... It is like you ate too much dinner (all.day.long.).

Painful… But I like how smooth they make you look!

I have never tried them as I found super control top pantyhose too annoying.

Scott does have a point that there could be some health benefits, especially if you had trouble retaining water.

Only thing is I can still hear my Mom's tirade against girdles in my head when I was in the 6th grade and felt pudgy (and borrowed one of hers) how they will make you even flabbier in the long run because you are not using your muscles to hold you tummy up and in.

First of all, half of the bitches in these photos don't even NEED Spanx. Secondly, I HATE them. The two times I ever wore them it felt like my fucking guts were being suffocated and moved around inside my body!! I had to remove them while I was still out. Also, what does that mean for the rest of my body?? My middle is flat but then my neck, legs and arms are still flabby and flappin! STUPID!

I've never tried them, and they seem horrible and so uncomfortable. I don't even like control top tights because they feel so constricting. I can't even imagine these.

I admit to having a pair.
I have only worn them 2 or 3 times for super special events.
I would die if I had to wear them everyday.

My dad bought me some for my Sweetheart dance in high school and I swear my date was worried about me because I kept having to play around with them, pulling them up or down or freaking out about how they were cutting off circulation. I have actually gotten in the habit of wearing biking shorts (without the padding) under dresses and stuff, because it's more comfortable and then my legs don't rub together. HA.

Much Love,
Trissta
