Something about the New Year (not so new now, eh?) made me want to change things.  So I have been doing a bit of semi-affordable redecorating in my place -- new paint, new curtains, new accessories, and with any luck a bit of new (or refurbished) furniture.  It is taking FOREVER -- patience is not my forte, and my funds are not unlimited -- and it is making a mess.  But it is really exciting to spruce up the place that I have lived in for 8 years.  And it doesn't hurt that my neighbor is doing the painting part for me!  Whee!

Being a bit insane, I am so excited for all of these changes that I can hardly sleep at night.  I think about paint colors, pattern ideas, curtain options, art possibilities, etc.

Fresh paint does a world of good.  But I am not sure that ANY amount of paint will fully transform my rather ugly kitchen and bathroom.  Whaddya gonna do.  I rent, so I work with what I have and try to make it the best that I can.

I was thinking about changing out my clear shower curtain (courtesy of Ikea -- SUPER cheap) (did I mention that I agonize over every little decor decision because I am a picky fuck), and the boyfriend told me I should check out Walmart's selection.  So I did.  HOLYFUCKINGHELL Walmart has some hideous shower curtains for sale!  YEEEE-IKES!!!!!  SEE ABOVE!!!!  If you ever need a good gag gift, one of these might do the trick!

A couple of years ago I was selling my house and needed to buy a shower curtain since I had been living without one, and found what you did. I ended up with some neutral stripes from Pottery Barn. I mean, what.the.hell?! Do people really buy this crap? The wildlife ones are the absolute worst.

I have the ruffle one that goes from yellow-blue and I drove myself crazy trying to track it down and am still obsessed with it! Oh well, different strokes for different folks. Decorating has never been my strong suit.

The Chicago Cubs is truly hideous...that's coming from a White Sox fan! :).

butt ugly. try urbanoutfitters.com and Marshall's/tj max stores. I went crazy with my tile, so I picked a hookless gray one up for $7 perfect, but I dream of awesome ones

LOL I like a couple of these! I think the ruffle ones are pretty (especially the yellow-blue one) and I have one just like it that's all gray. I also kinda like the aqua color one that's drapey. haha! :)

You and I are in the same universe right now. I'm painting and fixing up too! I'm boring when it comes to bath stuff. All I ever like is white. I have a white terry cloth curtain and a white waffle weave as back-up. I go rouge and switch out the rings between gold, silver and wood. I like the whole room to be white and add color with art and towels towels. West Elm is always a good bet for a nice shower curtain. Post pics!!

Of course I had to click and see for myself. You left out some hideous ones though.

Since my Walmart shower curtain didn't make the list, I'll consider myself a winner. Yay! (-:

And I'm picky right there with you. I've been known to take an hour choosing a dish towel. These things matter.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. My step-mom has one of the horse ones on her shower at my dad's house. I JUST DIED! I love you so much for this post! Seriously, though, these are some tacky curtains! And I totally want to see some of your projects/progress!! Email me some pictures! I'm also always happy to help should you need a sounding board/idea projector.

Much Love,
Trissta

I HAVE TO AGREE these are ugly, but, i must also confess that it's likely my mom might have one of these hanging up in her guest bathroom.
That aside, one idea to spice up the bathroom is to paint the ceiling - and add plants. Another is to hang the shower curtain from the ceiling and not from the middle as usual. It makes it look clean.
